Liverpool’s search for the Champions League continues on Wednesday when Jurgen Klopp’s side welcomes Fulham to Anfield for a Premier League clash.

The Reds ran their winning streak to four matches on Sunday, thanks to a last-gasp winner after blowing a 3-0 lead over Tottenham. The Fulham side they’ll face fell 2-1 to Manchester City but lost a lot more than points in the defeat as two key players went down to injury.

With Fulham’s injury woes starting to add up, and their motivation in question, it could be a very one-sided affair when these two take the pitch. We explain why that works in your favor in our Liverpool vs Fulham EPL free betting picks for Wednesday, May 3.

Liverpool vs Fulham best odds

Liverpool vs Fulham picks and predictions

Any lingering hopes Fulham held of somehow challenging for a spot in Europe has been lost over the past few weeks, and with a 15-point cushion over the Bottom 5, there is little left for the Cottagers to fight for. Fulham players can easily be forgiven for being “on the beach” at this juncture, especially given the vast injury list they carry into this match.

Defeat in seven of their last nine was compounded when they fell to Manchester City, as center-back Tim Ream was lost after he suffered a broken arm. Their captain is joined on the sideline by key creative midfielder Andreas Pereira, whose ankle injury was severe enough to be taken to the hospital. This is all in addition to striker Aleksandar Mitrovic still serving two more matches of his lengthy suspension.

That bodes well for a Liverpool side that have plenty to fight for, and the carrot of the Champions League dangling in their view. The Reds sit just seven points back of Manchester United, albeit with one more match played, but they hold a superior goal differential.

In the first 15 minutes of Liverpool’s win over Spurs, their offense looked as dangerous as it has all season. The inclusion of Luis Diaz adds an additional element this team has been lacking since his injury, and Diogo Jota is in strong form and coming off scoring the winner against Spurs. Facing a Fulham side missing their rock in defense, Liverpool should find plenty of space to exploit whoever fills in for Ream with their free-flowing attack.

In recent weeks, Arsenal put three past Fulham at full strength at Craven Cottage. Manchester City put two past them at the Cottage at the weekend, and their 2.48 xG came with them almost sleepwalking at times in the match.

I see no reason why Liverpool won’t get at least three against a side that simply lacks any motivation. Liverpool will not only win, but they’ll do so in style. They’ve scored at least two goals in each of their previous five matches, and I’m banking on them to up that to at least three on Wednesday.

Liverpool vs Fulham side analysis

Liverpool will consider themselves fortunate to have escaped the blushes of blowing their lead over Spurs. They scored three goals in the opening 15 minutes, just to see Richarlison score the equalizer in stoppage time. Thankfully for them, Jota was able to reclaim all three points moments later on their only shot on goal after the third goal was scored.

Thiago continues to miss out, but the only Liverpool injury from the win against Spurs actually came from Klopp, who appeared to injure his hamstring in celebration of Jota’s winner. Jota and Diaz will battle it out for the left flank starting role, while Darwin Nunez could return to the starting lineup as well.

Fulham’s loss to Man City wasn’t a terrible performance, but it was clear that the visitors weren’t fully firing on all cylinders. Now they must try to improve on a run that has seen them lose four of their last five away in all competitions, with the only victory coming against an Everton side currently residing in a relegation spot.

Fulham’s lack of a true goalscorer, combined with their form and the match being at Anfield, are key reasons why the Reds are favored north of -400 at every book. The line is so juiced that putting it in a parlay can actually hurt the price of some items, so unless you believe Fulham somehow pull out a result I’d stay away entirely.

Liverpool vs Fulham Over/Under analysis

Over 2.5 is juiced to a price-best -250, a level I've rarely seen. Most books are putting the total at 3.5 goals, with the Under being slightly favored.

One key reason for that is the fact that neither team is showing they can keep a clean sheet. Fulham have kept just one clean sheet in their last seven away from Craven Cottage, and none in their last nine in all competitions.

It’s a similar situation for Liverpool, who despite having won four straight have conceded seven goals in those matches. Their 0-0 draw with Chelsea — which seems to be a given when they face off — is their only clean sheet in their last nine outings.

Liverpool’s last five matches have seen an average of more than five goals per contest, while Fulham’s last five have actually seen just 12 goals scored in total. That said, eight of their 10 Premier League matches against Big 6 sides this campaign have featured at least three goals.

I’m obviously all over the Over 2.5 given my best bet, but I’m not entirely sold on the Over 3.5 given Fulham’s missing pieces. That said, Liverpool haven’t shown they are capable of keeping opponents off the scoresheet, so it’s not the worst play in the world to take the Over at plus-odds.

The conditions in Liverpool on Wednesday will be chilly but pleasant. Temperatures will be in the low 50s near kickoff and drop a bit, but there will be no rain. Wind gusts could get into the upper 20s and impact play a bit.
