My analysis
Manchester United players took to social media to highlight Amorim's instant effect on the team. The Portuguese will look to change the playing style as soon as possible. He wants intensity and speed from his boys, so we could see some of the elements that Amorim regards as definitory to his tenure applied as early as Sunday.
Ipswich Town are fresh from a shock win in North London against Tottenham, marking their first campaign triumph. Newly-promoted Ipswich sit 17th in the Premier League, with eight points in 11 games. United is not doing too well either, as they are now 13th, on 15 points. But they've been doing well since Ten Hag's sacking. Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy oversaw United, winning three games and drawing one since the end of October.
Man United have been winning at both half-time and full-time in their last four matches against Ipswich in all competitions. They also managed to keep a clean sheet in all these games. Amorim is surely not going to solve Man United's many problems after just a week of training, but I expect glimpses of his attacking and penetrating philosophy to be applied as early as Sunday.
