There’s a huge game with title ramifications in the Premier League this Saturday, with Chelsea and Liverpool facing off at Stamford Bridge. The hosts need a win to get back in the mix, while Liverpool need to stop their first wobble under Arne Slot.

Both teams are desperate for a victory, but both sets of fans might come away disappointed with our Chelsea vs. Liverpool predictions, which expect the game to finish tied. Read my free betting picks below for more.

Premier League predictions for Chelsea vs Liverpool

My Chelsea vs Liverpool best bet: Draw (+260 at Sports Interaction)

People were already crowning Liverpool as champions a few weeks ago, despite the season being barely a month old.

Now, just a few games later and things are looking a lot less secure. Liverpool might still sit atop the table, but they’ve now lost back-to-back matches in all competitions. If we're honest, these problems have been coming.

Of Liverpool’s first five EPL matches before last week’s defeat to Crystal Palace, they scored the winner in the final 10 minutes or in extra time in four of them. In many ways, those late goals show the tenacity of the team but it's an unsustainable way of winning.

Those late goals have covered up the fact that they were outperforming their xG (expected goals) and conceding fewer than their xGA (expected goals against).

Liverpool have been atrocious defensively, only keeping two clean sheets across nine games in all competitions. No matter how brilliant the attack in your team is, you cannot keep allowing easy goals. We saw Bournemouth put two past them, as well as 10-man Newcastle.

This wobble has been coming, and the signings of Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez haven’t worked in the short term. The team lacks balance, and with the focus on attacking, the team is vulnerable defensively.

Chelsea have had a lot of injuries, with defense an issue, but they’ve lost just once at home this season and have the talent in their attack to cause Liverpool’s defense real problems. There’s real value on the draw, especially with Liverpool failing to win any of the previous three EPL meetings at Stamford Bridge, with two finishing tied.

Draw

Both teams to score: Yes

Marc Cucurella to get booked

As well as our best bet, we’re backing both teams to score. As mentioned above, these are two defenses that are not performing exceptionally well. Only one team in the top half of the Premier League has conceded more than Liverpool or Chelsea, while they've both scored double-digit goals. Both teams to score has landed in eight of 12 combined EPL matches this season.

We’re also backing Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella to get booked. The Spanish fullback leads the team in cards with two, as well as leading the team in fouls committed (only including players who have started a game). He’s set to find Mohamed Salah on his flank, a player who is among the most fouled players on this Liverpool side.
