Bayern Munich vs Chelsea picks and predictions

My Bayern Munich vs Chelsea best bet: Chelsea to win or draw (+115 at Sports Interaction)

It’s easy to see why the Bavarians are the favorites, considering they won all three of their Bundesliga games this season, scoring 14 goals and giving up just two, and they’ve won the past four meetings between the teams.

When you factor in Chelsea’s injuries, the odds begin to make more sense. However, this is a Chelsea side that's discovered an ability to get wins when it matters, as we saw in the Club World Cup.

Yes, the London club has injuries with Levi Colwill and Liam Delap among those confirmed out, with Joao Pedro, Reece James, and Estevao currently sweating on their fitness too. However, there’s enough quality in the team even if the three questionable stars are unable to get on the field, and with Cole Palmer now returned, they have their talisman and best goalscorer.

The Bundesliga is a great league, but the reality is that in terms of depth, it doesn’t have the ability of the Premier League, and Bayern too have injuries with Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala, key players who could tip the balance to the Germans.

This is a strong Chelsea team, packed with internationals, even allowing for absences, and they’ve been unbeaten this season too. You’re getting good value on the double chance of Chelsea winning or keeping things level.

Chelsea to win or draw

Cole Palmer anytime goalscorer

Harry Kane anytime goalscorer

For the first additional leg to our best bet, we’re backing Cole Palmer to score. The England man lit up the Club World Cup with three goals on the way to Chelsea lifting the trophy, and scored in the Premier League at the weekend as he announced his return from injury. He’s in good form, and given he averages 4.5 shots per game in the Premier League, he should have opportunities.

We’re also backing Bayern to score, and that man has been Harry Kane. The England captain has been in incredible form. He scored one for his country in the recent international break and now has five in three Bundesliga games, as well as a goal in the German Super Cup, too.
