After a heated Leagues Cup final, Inter Miami will seek revenge against the Seattle Sounders when they face off Tuesday night at Chase Stadium.

Seattle’s win was quickly followed by a nasty exchange that saw multiple fights and a spitting incident. Emotions are likely to be high as Lionel Messi’s team hopes to extend its six-match home unbeaten run against MLS opponents.

I’m backing the away team to get goals, and I explain why in my Inter Miami vs. Seattle Sounders predictions and free betting picks for Tuesday, September 16.

Inter Miami vs Seattle Sounders picks and predictions

My Inter Miami vs Seattle Sounders best bet: Seattle Sounders team total Over 1.5 (+125 at SportsInteraction)

Inter Miami have not kept a clean sheet in their last 10 matches, dating back to a scoreless draw with Cincinnati on July 26. Now they come into this match with consecutive 3-0 defeats on either side of the international break.

The first came in the Leagues Cup to this very Seattle Sounders side, where Seattle put six shots on target and punished Miami’s leaky defense repeatedly. I'm backing them to do the same and get multiple goals on the road.

The Sounders have found their scoring boots of late, with at least two goals in four consecutive matches. They’ve scored 12 goals in that span, bagging two in the first half of a 2-2 draw with the LA Galaxy on Saturday.

Going back further, the Sounders have found the back of the net multiple times in 13 of their last 16 matches. And the return of Jordan Morris, who made a 10-minute cameo against the Galaxy, only strengthens an already dangerous attack.

Miami defender Tomas Aviles will be suspended after picking up a red card this weekend against Charlotte, while midfielder Baltasar Rodriguez misses out due to injury. That hurts an already weakened spine enough that I’ll happily back the Sounders to get multiple goals yet again — especially at plus-money odds.

Seattle Sounders team total Over 1.5

Seattle Sounders to win or draw

Danny Musovski 2+ shots on target

If Seattle gets multiple goals, I like them to get a result with how Miami’s attack has failed to put away chances of late. The Herons had 1.95 xG against Charlotte, but 0.79 of that came from a saved Lionel Messi penalty.

Luis Suarez was suspended for his reprehensible behavior after the final whistle of the Leagues Cup final and will miss out here. That will weaken their attack even more and add value to the play.

Osaze De Rosario played just 61 minutes in the Leagues Cup final, but found the back of the net while putting two of his three shots on target. Danny Musovski is likely to start here and has scored in four of his last six appearances with seven goals in that span.

He’s averaging more than 3.0 shots per 90 minutes in MLS play, and 1.59 SOT per 90. Charlotte striker Idan Toklomati had two shots on target from open play this weekend, and Musovski should replicate that feat.
