Ok Men, Week 1 is behind us and I hope all of you made a ton. I had a successful week 1 as most of you know. I've been saying it for years now, weeks 1 - 4 is the easiest money you can make. If you didn't do well, re group cause it's a long season.

10 things We learned this past week

    1) If you missed the Baylor TCU game you may have missed the game of the year. I told you guys in my breakdown that we would see a offense like you've never seen before. Baylor and Robert Griffin will light the scoreboard up like a Christmas tree all season, get ready.

    2) You boys knew it was coming... get ready. WTF happen to your great little Georgia coming out party? Let's hear it, cause after the game last night, I couldn't find any takers on the subject. Most importantly, DON'T try to pass it off like it was something Georgia Didn't do compared to what Boise did. If your living under a rock and dont understand football, I will give you a pass. But if you think teams from the SEC can show up and beat people then your stupid. Boise is a Physical well coached football team....case closed.

    3) Lets talk about the teams who looked very pathetic in week 1, Here's my list. Missouri, Michigan S.T, Louisville, Purdue, Notre Dame, Oregon S.T, Duke, Washington, Kansas S.T and Georgia. These teams IMO looked pathetic on offense and basically looked like there were not ready to start the season. If your a fan of one of these teams, get in here and explain you team.

    4) The SEC. I know you guys think I'm a hater.  Im not, but if you think your conference looked good this week. Then get a reality check. The truth is, if your the best conference then you get scrutinized from week to week, because you are the best. And guess who is gonna tell you about it? Me. Week 1, SEC = Garbage.

    5) Same old Oregon. These guys may have played themselves out of the N.C picture with that poor performance. The truth is they need to be physical when the time calls for it. IMO, there out and LSU played LSU football. What is LSU football? Good Running game mixed in with a ton of luck and poor coaching.

    6) The Ending to the Auburn game just made me sick. There again, some coaches and some teams just have a horseshoe up there asses. Please don't try to tell me it was good coaching. Cause I remember back in the summer I told all of you that Chizik was dumbass who truly is a product of the system...but no,no,no. He is a good coach, yeah right. I could have coached that team with Cam last year and went 12 - 0. What kills me is that the guy was standing there after the game like it was something he did.

    7) I want to give Thrill Kill a little props here. In my breakdown I told you that Minnesota hired a very good football coach. To do what they did at the Coliseum with that mess was good coaching. Will all of this translate into wins and this season. Prolly not, but point is once this football team learns how to win, watch out in the future.

    8) Texas gained some confidence. A 34 - 9 win against rice isn't anything to get excited about. But, I do think this will be one of the most improved teams of 2011. Once they get that swagger back in Texas, things will turn around.

    9) Is it just me, or am I the only person that loves to hear Musburger and Herbstreit call a game. I think these two do a good job along with the fact that both are secret gamblers. Musburger for sure is and I think Herbstreit trys to just hide it.

10 )  Lastly, if you didnt have a good week. Settle down. It's week 1 and there is a long way to go in this season. Re Group and take a deep breath. Capping College football comes with hard work, don't expect to think you can just pick winners all the time. The key is to trust what you see with your eyes, understand this is a emotional game and teams aren't the same from week to week. Stay focused and get ready for week 2.

Lines will be out later, I will post some plays by tonight. Good Luck to all this coming week.

have to say a couple of things on 2 teams.

UGA- as I said, I think this team will be a value team later in the yr. I saw them going 0-2 to start the yr, Think they will need a couple of weeks to get it together. The schedule didn't help either. As long as its a decent # next week, i'm all over So.Car.

ND- As I wrote about the ND, running is going to be a huge part of their game. With now a true frosh playing QB, it will probably be even more the case. I am amazed that I went against you on the Under in that game and won.  A lot of misses and a wet field is probably the only reason why though. ND's defense though, is legit. I will be following their totals closely, cause thye might be an under team this yr.

Keep up the great work Boom and GL today

Great weekend boom... I don't see how you can say that LSU you got lucky... They dominated on defense, end of story.

    11. What you thought was a break even week can turn into a bad week when you realized that your biggest play of the week was canceled, despite obviously winning.

No, no... LSU won the game. I m not saying they were lucky at all. LSU physically whipped Oregon's ass. I m just saying how I feel about them as a whole the past few seasons.... they played well last night

    Nice week Boom.

I will be hitting up the Baylor overs on a regular basis this season. They have no defense, and a very dynamic offense. Should be some big time shoot outs against the likes of the Big 12. SEC overall was very underwhelming. Watched Alabama a bit, and the offense was not impressive, Penn State catching more than a touchdown could be a good play.

    Outstanding job Boom!!!

I agree with your pathetic list except Notre Dame.  I had USF +10.5 so obviously I'm delighted with the outcome.  Admittedly I didn't see the whole game, but from I did see I thought the Irish looked looked pretty good on both sides of the ball.  As is so often the case, 5 turnovers absolutely killed them - 3 in the red zone.  Had the Irish done a better job of protecting the ball, I don't think there is any question they win (and possibly cover) that game.  I think we'll see them clean some things up and come back strong against Michigan this week.

Again, great job Boom!!!  Keep the momentum going this week!!!

Jimmy thanks bro Jimmy is always a class act people. If you think any different about jimmy because of that one game ( Boise / Georgia )...Think again. Jimmy is among the 5 smartest guys on this website when it comes to understanding and capping college football.

Jimmy we need to talk later about Bama / Penn S.T.. I have some interesting thoughts on that game.

Congrats on your big weekend as well

You can add to Oregon in the fact that there up tempo offense may work very well against teams that are not very deep on defense because they get tired and fatigued, but when they go up against teams that are deep and platoon in players all game long that ain't going to work to well.

Also great week for you Boom

The performance of these teams notwithstanding, the overall strength of the SEC as a whole is still significantly better than any other conference in the country.
