Okay, this has finally become a series. Any series that goes 6 or 7 games is a 'series' in my book. It would be easy to say L.A. has chocked the last 2 games, but I feel NJ deserves lots of credit for stepping up and refusing to lose; they definitely played much looser after being down 0-3, and I'm sure Brodeur, with all his legendary experience, knows what to tell his teammates to get them jacked up and ready to play.
The first two games went to OT and L.A. was fortunate and lucky to take them both. When they won game 3 in convincing fashion, it seeemed like a given they would sweep, or at the very least take it in 5...
Well, now things are getting exciting from a fans' perspective because the Devils are playing with the 'house's money', so to speak; Quick has allowed a few bad goals and it's cost his team the last two games.
I know in terms of statistics, L.A. will win this series, but I can't bet them any longer because of the momentum NJ now has. In terms of value, the Devils are the play at +160, or whatever they will be for game 6, even though my gut says L.A. will get it done.
I really feel the best bet is sticking with the UNDER 4.5 or 5, because I really don't see the style of play changing whatsoever in game 6 and beyond.
So, congrats to NJ for making a series out of this, and let's hope for a great game 6, and take that UNDER again!
