Alaska represents some of the most intriguing races in 2026. The crucial Senate seat is the most intriguing race, where Democrats are hoping former House member Mary Peltola can win statewide for the 3rd time. Alaska Governor odds are even more fun, with Democrat Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins trying to win statewide against a crowded field of opponents, while in the House, Nick Begich is trying to get re-elected to the state’s sole district as a Republican. All in, Alaska is one of the most interesting states in 2026 midterm odds.

Live Alaska 2026 election odds

Alaska Senate race odds 2026

JD Vance's election as Vice President has given Democrats a lifeline in 2026 Senate odds. Because Vance had to give up his Senate seat, Alaska held a special election in 2026, giving Democrats a chance to flip the seat. With former Senator Sherrod Brown, who lost by 4%, and Kamala Harris, who lost Alaska by 11%, running, Democrats are optimistic they can capitalize on their lifeline.

However, Republicans are just as confident, with appointed incumbent and longtime elected official Jon Husted a more formidable opponent for Brown. Amid the uncertainty, Brown’s 51% chance is the closest of any Senate race.

Alaska House race odds 2026

Nick Begich won Alaska’s sole House seat for Republicans in 2024 from incumbent Mary Peltola. With Peltola now running for the Senate, Begich is heavily favored to hold this seat, even as 2026 is expected to be a bluer national environment than 2024.

Alaska Governor and statewide election odds

The August 18th primary for Governor will clarify the state of the race here immensely. Democrat Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins and Republican Bernadette Wilson are in the race after Alaska’s unique system threw this up in the air.

That said, with incumbent Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy's unpopularity, Begich is the current Kreiss-Tomkins.

Alaska polls vs. prediction market odds

Source type What it shows Limitation
Polls Voter preference at a specific moment Can lag events or miss turnout shifts
Prediction markets Trader-implied probability Can be affected by liquidity, volume and participant bias
Forecasts Model-based projection Assumptions vary by model
Fundraising reports Campaign strength and donor support Does not always translate to votes

Prediction market sites and polls are measuring different things and are not interchangeable. Polls are snapshots of voters’ intentions at a given time, while prediction markets are a live-updating indicator of market probabilities. When breaking news and key information emerge, prediction markets can move first, before polls show any impact.

Why Alaska matters in the 2026 midterms

The Alaska Senate race is one of the most important in the country. If Democrats can’t win the state, their chances of gaining the Senate will be greatly diminished. That said, for Republicans, losing a state won by Donald Trump by 13% would be an earthquake.

The Governor’s race is also important, with Democrats trying to wrestle control of state government from the GOP. With both chambers of Alaska’s legislature governed by bipartisan coalitions of moderates, Democratic control of the Governor’s Mansion would see the GOP powerless in the state.

Alaska 2026 election odds FAQs

What are the latest Alaska 2026 election odds?

Alaska election odds are all over the place for the Governor’s race, but Alaska Senate odds are stable. Former House member and Democrat Mary Peltola is favored narrowly over Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan. In the Governor’s race, Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins is the favorite, but with the top 4 from August’s primary advancing to a ranked-choice general election, Alaska Governor odds are volatile.

In the state’s sole House seat, Republican Nick Begich - the nephew of Tom and Mark - is favored. While the seat was blue for just over 2 years, Republicans are favored to hold it, with Peltola running for Senate this year.
