It's the Jack Eichel "revenge" game as the Sabres visit the Golden Knights on Friday, and our NHL betting picks believe the former Buffalo star will sting his ex-team in Sin City tonight.

The Vegas Golden Knights skate into tonight’s contest on a nine-game point streak and will look to post their second 10-game run of the season when they welcome the Buffalo Sabres to T-Mobile Arena as heavy favorites in the NHL odds.

Jack Eichel has led the charge offensively with 13 points during Vegas’ nine-game point streak, ranking just two back of Nathan MacKinnon for the NHL lead in points since the run began on November 27.

Find out if Eichel can help Vegas push its streak to double digits against his former team in our Sabres vs. Golden Knights NHL picks and predictions for Friday, December 15.

Sabres vs Golden Knights predictions

The Vegas Golden Knights extended their point streak to nine games with a 5-4 overtime victory against the Flames on Tuesday, collecting their fourth straight win while improving to 6-0-1 over their last seven outings.

Captain Mark Stone racked up four points, including the overtime winner, while Jack Eichel pushed his personal point streak to eight games with an assist.

Eichel has been on fire during Vegas’ point streak, notching multiple points in three of his last seven outings, and he should have extra motivation coming into tonight’s contest as he faces off against the Buffalo Sabres — his former team.

Buffalo is in the midst of another disappointing season and has particularly struggled in its own end, giving up 3.33 goals against per game — the ninth-worst mark in the NHL. The Sabres come into this game on the heels of a 5-1 defeat against the Avalanche and have been even worse defensively over their last 10 contests, surrendering 3.70 goals per game since Nov. 25 while going 3-6-1 through that span.

The penalty kill has been an Achilles heel for the Sabres during this 10-game stretch as they’ve foiled just 65.2% of their opponent’s power plays — the worst mark in the league. Meanwhile, Eichel has exceled on the man advantage, collecting 10 of his 33 points this season on the power play, including four in the last seven games.

I’ll be looking for Eichel to put on a show against his former club and collect Over 1.5 points tonight.

My best bet: Jack Eichel Over 1.5 points (+165 at DraftKings)

Sabres vs Golden Knights same-game parlay

Golden Knights to score first

Golden Knights team total Over 4.5

Over 7.5

Our Eichel prop is not available for the same-game parlay so we’ll switch to a couple of Vegas team props as well as a total goals prop here.

For starters, I’ll look for the Golden Knights to open the scoring — something they’ve done 16 times compared to just 11 for the Sabres.

Vegas has recorded at least five tallies in four straight games, so I’ll look for them to cash the Over on a lofty 4.5 goals. I’ll also bank on a strong Golden Knights offense and weak Sabres defense to help push the game total to Over 7.5 goals.

Sabres vs Golden Knights moneyline and Over/Under analysis

Vegas is unsurprisingly the clear favorite in this matchup, opening at -212 on the moneyline, while the total was set at 6.5 goals. I like the Golden Knights to pick up two points while doing so in high-scoring fashion.

The hosts have been scoring at will during their four-game win streak, recording 22 goals over that span. High-scoring offense has been a theme all season for the Golden Knights, who have recorded at least four goals in seven of their last eight contests and rank ninth in the league this season in goals per game (3.37).

Buffalo, on the other hand, has just two wins in its last eight outings while being outscored 29-21 during that stretch. The Sabres have averaged just 2.63 GPG over those eight games — a number that likely won’t be able to compete with the streaking Golden Knights.

With Vegas averaging 5.50 GPG over its last four contests, I think we should see these clubs cash the Over on 6.5 goals tonight while the Golden Knights do most of the heavy lifting. The Sabres’ porous defense will also come into play here, as they’ve given up five or more goals in five of their last 10 games.

Vegas has been playing high-scoring games in general of late with three of their last four outings finishing with nine goals, so Buffalo should be able to put in at least two or three of their own.

The Over is just 4-4-2 in the 10 all-time meetings between the Sabres and Golden Knights, but they’ve combined for at least six goals in six of those contests and four of the last six.
