The Philadelphia Flyers have struggled mightily to create offense, ranking dead last in shots per game and near the basement in goals.

My Flyers vs. Canadiens predictions and NHL picks see their offensive woes continuing on the road, leading to a low-scoring affair in Montreal.

Flyers vs Canadiens prediction

Flyers vs Canadiens Best bet: Under 5.5 (+100)

The Philadelphia Flyers are not a good offensive team. The Flyers sit tied for 31st in 5-on-5 goals and rank Bottom 5 in expected goals, indicating they’re not generating many opportunities.

They have had an especially difficult time finding twine on the road, averaging just 1.67 goals per 60. It’s unlikely things will get better in Montreal.

The Montreal Canadiens have played stingy defense of late, ranking eighth in shot suppression at even-strength over the past 10 games. They rank 26th in pace during that span, slowing down the run of play rather than trying to trade chances.

It’ll be difficult for the Flyers to create quality looks. When they do, they’ll still have to beat arguably the league’s hottest goaltender.

Jakub Dobes is 6-0 on the year with a sparkling .930 save percentage. He's playing amazingly well each night, and this is not a spot where that should change.

Although the Canadiens rank second in goals per game, the goals shouldn’t come easily for them either. Philadelphia ranks seventh in shot suppression, third in expected goals against, and 32nd in pace at 5-on-5 this season. They play at a snail’s pace and are much more focused on preventing offense than producing it.

Don’t expect fireworks on Tuesday night.

Flyers vs Canadiens same-game parlay

Travis Konecny is not shooting a ton, averaging just 4.1 shot attempts per game. That doesn’t give him much margin for error, especially in a difficult matchup against Montreal.

Noah Dobson has multiple shots in four of five home games this season. Dating back to last year, he has 2+ shots in 80% of home games when logging at least 20 minutes.
