The Bell Centre will play host to a Canadian clash between the Vancouver Canucks and Montreal Canadiens on Monday, January 12.

With Vancouver reeling along a six-game losing skid and struggling at both ends of the ice, my top Canucks vs. Canadiens predictions and NHL picks are calling for Montreal to win comfortably on home ice tonight.

Canucks vs Canadiens prediction

Canucks vs Canadiens best bet: Canadiens -1.5 (+130)

The Vancouver Canucks are in a 0-6 free fall with 28 goals against and have now allowed the third most per game (3.57) for the season.

On the opposite bench, the Montreal Canadiens are set to rebound after a 4-0 home loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. With the Habs averaging the seventh-most goals per game (3.31), I’m anticipating the injury-riddled Canucks struggling to keep pace.

Montreal is also turning to Jakub Dobes in net, and he’s been watching a lot more than playing of late. This is the perfect opponent for the second-year goalie to turn things around.

The Canucks have scored the sixth-fewest goals per game, including the fourth-fewest goals per 60 minutes at 5-on-5, after all.

Canucks vs Canadiens same-game parlay

With a favorable matchup, this is a bounce-back spot for both Dobes and the Habs. The Canucks have averaged 27.0 shots per game this season, and an impressive 30.5 during the highlighted six-game losing skid.

Canadiens star Lane Huston has registered two or more shots in six of his past 10 games while averaging a monster 25:27 of ice time (3:41 with the man advantage). He’s also paced his defense with an impressive 57.0 Corsi For percentage and 56.8% shot share at 5-on-5 during the stretch.
