The Detroit Lions will wrap up their preseason schedule on Saturday afternoon as they host the Houston Texans at Ford Field.
Houston has been tough defensively throughout its preseason action, and I’m taking it to win outright in my Texans vs. Lions predictions.

Texans vs Lions Best bet: Texans moneyline (+110)
The Houston Texans flashed their defensive depth last weekend against Carolina, holding the Panthers to just three points on 164 total yards of offense while forcing two interceptions.
Houston rotated through numerous players fighting for roster spots without any noticeable dip in quality.
Normally, a date with the Detroit Lions would be likely to change those numbers. However, we’re probably not going to see any of Jared Goff in this game, and the other starters won’t get much run in the final preseason contest, either.
That will leave Kyle Allen to carry the load for Detroit. Although Allen has moved the ball efficiently for the Lions, the situation is far less promising for the Lions’ offense behind him, with Hendon Hooker going just 6-of-13 for 61 yards and an interception against Miami last weekend.
Detroit has looked weaker when they’ve gone down the depth chart, and the Lions have allowed opposing offenses to score an average of 22.7 points per game in the preseason.
The Texans will be able to take advantage of this, especially with a capable backup quarterback in Davis Mills likely getting the bulk of the snaps on Saturday.
