A short-handed New York roster raced to a 106-75 win over the Connecticut Sun on Friday behind 31 points from Breanna Stewart, and my Liberty vs Mystics predictions don’t see Washington keeping up with that kind of offensive upside.

Liberty vs Mystics best bet: Liberty -5.5 (-110)
As first impressions go, the 2026 New York Liberty checked just about every box on Friday night – and their ability to pour in 100+ points without Sabrina Ionescu and Satou Sabally should send shivers around the WNBA.
For an encore, the Liberty visit Washington this afternoon, and they’ve racked up 10 straight victories over the Mystics.
A young Washington squad has ways to hurt New York, but it’s still the same group that finished the 2025 campaign with 10 losses in a row. The Liberty are hungry to move on from last season, and this line feels too low.
COVERS INTEL: The Liberty won all four matchups against the Mystics last season by a margin of 8+ points, including an early-season 85-63 thumping.
Liberty vs Mystics same-game parlay
The New York moneyline is an easy add here for my SGP, given the one-sided nature of recent matchups between these teams.
Then there’s Breanna Stewart, who’s off to a scorching start after going 10-for-17 from the field against the Sun and getting to the line 12 times. The Liberty’s injury list points to another big outing for Stewie as the visitors search for offense to paper over key absences.
In turn, the Mystics will need Shakira Austin and Kiki Iriafen to hold their own on the glass against Stewart and Jonquel Jones. The Washington duo combined for 27 rebounds in Toronto on Friday, and I’ll take this Over for Austin, who hauled in 11 boards in the season opener.

Liberty vs Mystics first basket scorer: Breanna Stewart (+400)
Stewart made a flying start on Friday at Barclays Center, scoring the first basket of the game on the way to 10 first-quarter points. That was the spark for a 106-point outing for New York, and I’m counting on a similar script here.
Once again, with key starters out, the Liberty will be leaning on Stewart’s shot-making here, and I like these odds for her to impose her will early against an athletic Washington frontcourt.
Stewie’s inside-outside game will stretch the Mystics’ defensive scheme, and it would be no surprise to see the visitors go to Stewart on the opening few possessions after her efficient effort in the season opener.
