The Green Bay Packers head to Soldier Field for a pivotal Week 16 showdown against the Chicago Bears on Sunday night. The Packers suffered a massive blow last week when All-Pro defender Micah Parsons tore his ACL.
Led by Kyle Monangai and D.J. Moore, I expect the Bears to take advantage of that void on defense.
Here are my Packers vs. Bears predictions and NFL picks for December 20.
Our best Packers vs Bears SGP for Week 16
The Green Bay Packers lost All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons to a season-ending injury last week. They also have key injuries on offense, with running back Josh Jacobs, leading receiver Christian Watson, and right tackle Zach Tom listed as game-time decisions.
I like the Chicago Bears to cover against the banged-up Packers in a revenge spot. To do that, they'll need to do two things: run the ball effectively and get production from D.J. Moore, who will be their only reliable pass catcher.
The Bears are second in the NFL in rush success rate thanks to a two-headed rushing attack featuring D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai. Swift is dealing with a groin injury, which could lead to a bigger workload for Monangai this week.
Monangai was held to 33 yards on 11 carries against Cleveland's stout run defense last week. However, he rushed for 57 yards against the Packers in Week 14 and boasted 100-yard games in Weeks 9 and 13 when Swift was hurt.
Moore had just -4 receiving yards against Green Bay two weeks ago, but he bounced back last week with four catches for 69 yards. He’ll be Caleb Williams’ primary target, as Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III have both been ruled out.
Packers vs Bears SGP
- Bears -1.5
- Kyle Monangai Over 46.5 rushing yards
- D.J. Moore Over 46.5 receiving yards
