The UCLA Bruins are playing their best basketball and enter the Big Ten tournament with a rest and prep edge over a Rutgers team they crushed earlier this season and Jason Logan isn't shying away from this big favorite.

The UCLA Bruins not only enjoyed an extended break but also draw the later tipoff when they open Big Ten tournament play against the Rutgers Scarlett Knights.

The Bruins’ strong finish to conference competition earned Mick Cronin’s crew a two-day bye, with UCLA winning four of its final five games (4-1 ATS).

That break has allowed Cronin to tighten the bolts on his program in practice and gives the Bruins an edge against the Scarlet Knights – a team they stomped by 32 points back on February 3.

Our Rutgers vs. UCLA predictions don’t believe tonight’s tilt will be that easy for the Bruins, but my college basketball picks aren’t fading the favorite anytime soon.

Rutgers vs UCLA best bet: UCLA -11.5 (-116)

The Rutgers Scarlett Knights advanced to the third round after taking advantage of a shorthanded Minnesota squad Wednesday & breaking away in the second half. They now face a UCLA Bruins team that’s rested, ready, and playing its best basketball.

The Bruins finished the final 10 games of Big Ten play with the seventh best net rating and topped the conference in that metric over the final five contests. A big part of that boost was 3-point shooting.

UCLA upped its activity from outside while also improving its success, knocking down almost 40% of 3-point attempts in the final five games.

Rutgers vs UCLA same-game parlay

There’s a notable gap between the top and bottom of the Big Ten and Rutgers has really struggled when facing the conference elite. UCLA takes care of the ball, protects the perimeter and game models sit as high as a 13-point win in Chicago.

Skyy Clark has hit at least two triples in 10 of his last 15 games. He missed the last matchup with Rutgers, which ranks 305th in opponent 3-point percentage.

Donovan Dent has really been at the wheel of this UCLA offense since late January, handing out eight or more assists in seven of the past 10 games. He had 11 dimes versus Rutgers and is projected for 9+ against a Scarlett Knights defense ranked 318th in opponent assist-to-FGM ratio.
