Expert Week 2 preseason NFL moneyline picks
Raiders vs. Texans: Texans (55%)
The Las Vegas Raiders will roll with the same starting offense and defense as Week 1, which bodes well for the Texans on multiple levels. Las Vegas couldn’t stop anything from the Arizona Cardinals a week ago, and quarterbacks Gardner Minshew and Jacoby Brissett didn’t record an incompletion in the first half while totaling three touchdowns. After Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed C.J. Stroud and other key starters would see the field in Week 2, I’m rocking with Houston in this spot.
49ers vs. Chargers: Chargers (48%)
Trey Lance is a preseason stud and will get the majority of the run against the 49ers’ backups. Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed that Justin Herbert and his starters are going to play a series before handing things off to Lance and Co, which cements this pick for me. Even with Brock Purdy getting limited reps, I’m expecting Los Angeles to run away with this one.

Jets vs. Steelers: Steelers (42%)
Did everyone see what Drew Allar did in Week 1? The rookie quarterback completed 10 of 13 pass attempts for 153 and two touchdowns, while Will Howard came in and went 7-for-9 passing with 86 yards. With these two young quarterbacks likely getting significant time again, I’m all over the Pittsburgh Steelers at home.
Panthers vs. Jaguars: Jaguars (54%)
On the back of Carter Bradley, the Jacksonville Jaguars pulled off the comeback against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1, and I have them taking down an uninspiring Carolina Panthers team after the Buffalo Bills punished them. Trevor Lawrence and a couple of key starters are going to play in Week 2 for a few series, which will put us in a great spot early.
Packers vs. Broncos: Broncos (67%)
Bo Nix returns to the field in Week 2, and Denver Broncos fans might even get their first look at Jaylen Waddle. I’m mostly looking forward to seeing running back Jonah Coleman again after he cooked the Falcons, averaging six yards per carry on four totes. He also produced a quality run and reception that penalties wiped out. Denver boasts a deeper roster, and with Jordan Love and Co. playing just one series, I’ll take the Broncos at home.
Commanders vs. Lions: Lions (64%)
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell has confirmed the majority of his starters will play in Week 2, while Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn was non-committal about starting Jayden Daniels. Campbell previously held out most of his starters in Week 1, but it looks like he’ll deploy his stars here, including Jared Goff. Let’s ride with the Lions at home.
Bills vs. Browns: Browns (56%)
Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum just diced the Cleveland Browns' defense for over 300 yards in Week 1, while the trio of Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel left a lot to be desired. However, I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt here, as Josh Allen will likely remain out. Let the quarterback battle truly begin with Sanders getting the nod to start.
Falcons vs. Colts: Colts (64%)
The Atlanta Falcons have one of the most depressing quarterback tandems in football, and while I’m not the biggest fan of Anthony Richardson, I still trust him and Riley Leonard to get the job done in Week 2. It was always the Indianapolis Colts at home.
Ravens vs. Vikings: Vikings (64%)
It looks like backups intend to play most of the game on Saturday, with the majority of reps going toward the starters during joint practice this week. I like the Minnesota Vikings’ depth here with J.J. McCarthy and Carson Wentz getting reps, with Tyler Huntley on the other side. I’ll roll with them at home.
Saints vs. Rams: Rams (41%)
Ty Simpson and Stetson Bennett received all of the snaps for the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2, and both looked serviceable. With a defense that let up just 12 points behind them, and the New Orleans Saints likely going with Zach Wilson and Spencer Rattler, I’ll take the Rams.
Giants vs. Dolphins: Giants (57%)
The Miami Dolphins walked down the field with their starters in Week 1 and scored a touchdown, and that would be it the rest of the way for them. With little to no depth, look for Jameis Winston and Co. to run over the Fins at home.
Bears vs. Bengals: Bears (53%)
Case Keenum will get the majority of reps for the Chicago Bears after Tyson Bagent missed practice time this week with a hamstring injury. I'll take that matchup over Josh Johnson and Sean Clifford, who will see significant time for the Bengals.
Eagles vs. Patriots: Patriots (45%)
We likely won't see Jalen Hurts or Drake Maye in this one, so it comes down to the duo of Andy Dalton and Tanner McKee against Tommy DeVito, who actually played pretty damn well for the New England Patriots in Week 1, throwing for 138 yards and a touchdown on 22 attempts. I'll rock with the underdogs at home as a result.
Chiefs vs. Buccaneers: Buccaneers (67%)
Prepare to see a ton of Justin Fields and Garrett Nussmeier in this one, with Patrick Mahomes returning from injury. On the other side, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said the starters will play in Week 2, so Baker Mayfield will make his debut. I'll hang my hat on the Bucs after an impressive victory a week ago.
Cowboys vs. Cardinals: Cowboys (47%)
Joe Milton got the job done for us as an underdog last week, and if it ain't broken, don't fix it. He and Sam Howell are duking it out for backup duties with the Dallas Cowboys, while there are still question marks surrounding the QB situation in Week 2 for the Arizona Cardinals. One thing we know for sure is that Jeremiyah Love won't be playing.
Seahawks vs. Titans: Titans (64%)
Will Levis will likely get a lot of playing time for the Tennessee Titans after Mitch Trubisky was hurt in Monday's practice. On the other side, it'll be Drew Lock and Jalen Milroe mostly for the Seattle Seahawks. I'll take Levis in this spot, who's in a tight battle with Trubisky for backup duties.
