After seeing almost two decades without a repeat champion, the NFC East title could go to the Philadelphia Eagles for the third straight season in 2026.
Kalshi gives Philadelphia a 39% chance of claiming another divisional crown but the three teams behind it — Dallas, Washington and New York — all made improvements this offseason.
The NFC East is going to be competitive, which means plenty of trading value along the way.
My NFC East preview sizes up all four teams, plus player props and projected outcomes, ahead of the 2026 NFL season.

NFC East breakdown
Dallas Cowboys: D the big question in Big D
I’m not worried about the Dallas Cowboys offense. It’s the defense that will make or break 2026.
There’s nowhere to go but up after allowing a league high in points and finishing 12-4-1 Over/Under last season. This stop unit has potential, if first-time defensive coordinator Christian Parker can keep his head above water.
Look-ahead totals aren’t optimistic.
The opening schedule throws Parker into the depths with six of the first seven games boasting O/U’s of 48+ points. Four of those games come away from home and that stretch features potent playmakers like Jayden Daniels, Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield, Jordan Love, and Jalen Hurts.
Put four of those matchups on the primetime stage (along with a stop in Brazil), and Parker’s playcalling is under the microscope.
New York Giants: Heavy dose of Harbaugh
The hiring of head coach John Harbaugh and an influx of former Ravens brings Baltimore’s ground-and-pound style to the New York Giants. A run-centric playbook complemented by big burly receivers should at least eat up the TOP.
Red zone efficiency is the biggest X-factor for the G-Men.
With the offense hogging the football, the Giants so-so defense is less exposed. Foes are limited in possessions and forced to throw, leading them into the teeth of this stop unit. New York’s daunting pass rush needs to bail out a shoddy secondary and make game-changing plays.
I’m circling the Giants as live pups, especially since they’re getting points in a dozen games.
Philadelphia Eagles: Offense has new wings
With only two 2026 look-ahead totals north of 48 points, Vic Fangio’s defense is obviously the Philadelphia Eagles’ backbone. In fact, Philadelphia’s schedule draws eight sub-45 numbers.
That’s a vote of confidence for the stop unit but also hints at uncertainty around an evolving offense.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts is being asked to do more by new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. That includes running the ball after a big drop in gains on the ground in 2025.
Hurts had seven or more carries in just eight games (compared to 14 games in 2024) with Philadelphia going 6-2 SU and ATS in those showings.
Washington Commanders: Turn in totals fortunes?
After a throw-away 2025 due to injuries, the Washington Commanders are the wild card in the NFC East. The Commanders invested in the defense this offseason and even with a first-time coordinator in Daronte Jones, the stop unit has a safety net in head coach Dan Quinn.
Between DQ and a Flores pedigree, expect the Commies to bring the heat.
The offense gets a shake up with new coordinator David Blough flipping the script. He’s preaching tempo but that doesn’t mean more of the same no-huddle, shotgun approach. Pre-snap motion and plenty of play action are utilized to help QB Jayden Daniels get his groove back.
If anything, I see a Washington’s Over/Under results going in reverse from the 10-6-1 O/U count last year.
My favorite NFC East player props this season
Dak Prescott: Yes 30+ passing touchdowns
Prescott is the beating heart of America’s Team and with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens as the top WR combo in the land, there are plenty of touchdowns to be had. Season-long projections sit as high as 33 TD passes from Dak.
Jaxson Dart: Yes 6+ rushing touchdowns
Harbaugh hits the ground running — literally — which means Dart dashing for the end zone. He scored nine rushing touchdowns in his rookie campaign and season-long forecasts sit as high as seven scores on the ground.
Saquon Barkley: Yes 1,000+ rushing yards
Even in a “down” 2025 season, Barkley still rushed for 1,100 yards. Mannion installs a zone blocking scheme with the best offensive line in the NFC and with Philly laying points in 13 games, the Eagles will be run heavy in second halves. Saquon's projections are 1,200 or higher.
Terry McLaurin: Yes 1,000+ receiving yards
Injuryies held McLaurin to just 10 games in 2025 and snapped a streak of five straight 1,000-yard seasons. Blough is aiming to get “Scary Terry” at least 10 targets a game and up his explosive plays. As long as Jayden Daniels is healthy, he’ll get there and more.
NFC East trends to know for 2026
- Cowboys: Dallas went 5-2-1 O/U at home in Year 1 under head coach Brian Schottenheimer. The Cowboys are 33-18-1 O/U as hosts since 2020 (65% Overs).
- Giants: New York went 7-4 ATS (2-9 SU) when getting more than field goal in 2025. The Giants are look-ahead underdogs of +3.5 or greater in six games this season.
- Eagles: Philadelphia head coach Nick Siriani comes up short of oddsmakers’ expectations when laying a touchdown or more. Since 2021, the Eagles are 9-14-2 ATS (21-4 SU) when pegged as faves of -7 or higher (40%).
- Commanders: Under head coach Dan Quinn, the Commanders are 12-4-1 Over/Under at home the past two years. That includes a 6-1-1 O/U count in D.C. last season.
