Eagles vs Commanders Props & Best Bets for Week 16

Saquon Barkley hasn't had the same rushing success this season as in 2024, but our expert NFL player prop predictions expect Barkley to change that on Saturday against Washington.

The Philadelphia Eagles got back on track with a much-needed 31–0 win over the Raiders last week and now head into Saturday evening as road favorites against the Washington Commanders.

Washington also snapped its skid with a win over the Giants last week, but the Commanders remain just 4–10 on the season and 2–4 at home.

Philly's offense is clicking at the right time, and I’m targeting Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith in this NFC East showdown.

Here are my Eagles vs. Commanders player props and NFL picks for December 20.

Saquon Barkley Over 75.5 rushing yards

-114 at FanDuel

Saquon Barkley isn’t quite having the type of season that he did last year, but he’s starting to rack up the yards and break free for long rushes. He had 78 yards last week against the Raiders and 122 yards in Los Angeles against the Chargers in the previous game.

After a really slow start to the season, Barkley now has at least 78 rushing yards in three of his last five games and four of his previous six.

The Washington Commanders allow the fifth-most rushing yards per game this season at 136.3, and they’re a foe that Barkley knows well.

Last season, Barkley ran for 146, 150, and 118 yards in the three meetings against Washington. The Philadelphia Eagles should lean on him in the second half as big favorites on Saturday evening.

Prop bet #2: Saquon Barkley Under 2.5 receptions

-148 at FanDuel

While Barkley is getting things going on the ground, he’s still not one to be too involved in the passing game. He has just 37 catches on 48 targets through 14 games, and seven of those catches came in one game against the Cowboys.

Barkley has fewer than three catches in seven of 14 games this season, including a total of two catches (on seven targets) over the last three weeks.

The Eagles do not need to use Barkley in the passing game, especially if they have a lead against Washington. The running back had a total of three catches in three games against the Commanders last season.

Prop bet #3: Devonta Smith longest reception Over 22.5 yards

-122 at FanDuel

Honestly, this line seems a bit low for DeVonta Smith. He’s proven to be a legit deep threat for the Eagles and one of the best in the NFL.

Smith has a catch of at least 23 yards in four straight games and seven of his last eight contests. That includes a long of 44 yards last week and 41 a few weeks ago in Dallas.

While the Commanders haven’t allowed a ton of long receptions, they also haven’t played Smith and the Eagles yet. Even if they don’t air it out to him, Smith is capable of racking up yards after the catch to surpass this 22.5 mark.
