Jason Logan’s expert pick: Dontayvion Wicks 40+ receiving yards
Price: 51% at Kalshi
The Philadelphia Eagles' receivers are about to see their highest rate of man-to-man coverage in Chicago. And while DeVonta Smith is a man killer, fellow wideout Dontayvion Wicks is also great in one-on-one situations. He rates 16th versus man at PFF.
The Chicago Bears will send doubles at Smith, leaving Wicks in single coverage and likely facing a cornerback way down the depth chart. Chicago is suffering from injuries in its secondary. Tyrique Stevenson is banged up too, though he'll play after practicing in full on Saturday.
Wicks has posted two 70-plus yard efforts versus zone-centric schemes during Chicago's first two games, and projections lean toward 40-plus tonight with a ceiling of 51 yards.
Josh Inglis' expert pick: D'Andre Swift 15+ receiving yards
Price: 40% at Kalshi
It's a backup dump-off kind of Monday with D'Andre Swift projected for 17.5 receiving yards after finishing with five targets last week, including one from Tyson Bagent in his 1.5 drives.
Swift is a very underrated pass-catching back with a 50-reception ceiling this season. With plenty of third-and-longs potentially coming under a backup quarterback, Swift could get another busy day in the passing game, especially if there's a negative game script.
Kyle Monangai was a full go at practice on Friday, but he's been dealing with a knee injury and has been conceding a 65/35 running-back opportunity share to Swift. But the most significant takeaway from Swift's usage is that he dominates the snaps in a negative game script, and that sounds like dump-offs to me. The total is 10.5, but I would play the 15-yard line to 50%.
Joe Osborne's expert pick: Bears +4.5
Price: 50% at Kalshi
I’m taking Bears +4.5 under the assumption Case Keenum starts. Chicago beat Philadelphia 24–15 on the road last season despite Caleb Williams completing just 17 of 36 passes for 154 yards. The Bears ran for 281 yards while holding the ball for more than 39 minutes.
They don’t need their quarterback to take over if Chicago can control the ground game again. The Eagles rarely earn large-margin victories, which has been on display in their first two games. They've tallied two- and four-point wins, including a narrow escape against the Tennessee Titans. Chicago can keep this close at home.
Jon Metler’s expert pick: Eagles -4.5
Price: 50% at Kalshi
I'll be backing the Eagles at -4.5, as I price them closer to a 6-point favorite against the Bears.
The side I choose always comes down to the numbers, but as a football fan, I'm thrilled that my edge in the projections is with the Eagles rather than Bagent/Keenum and the Bears. The line has moved six points from Bears -1.5 to Eagles -4.5 in the Monday Night Football odds following Williams' injury and the downgrade at quarterback.
But I don't think the market has been adjusting enough for this specific matchup. The Eagles boast a Vic Fangio-coached defense loaded with playmakers, and this isn't a Williams-to-Bagent/Keenum downgrade against the Titans. Philadelphia presents a much tougher test, which is why I still see value on the Eagles at -4.5.
