We like Denver to win outright, which makes Broncos +2.5 our pick against the spread. The 21–20 projection already assumes Mahomes starts. He was a full participant in Thursday and Friday practices, so this isn’t a pick built on Kansas City turning to its backup. Denver needs to limit the easy gains and make the Chiefs sustain drives; giving Mahomes short fields would undermine the case for a low-scoring road win.
Under 43.5 follows from our 41-point projection. We expect a tight game with little room for wasted possessions, rather than a shootout that asks Nix to match Mahomes touchdown for touchdown. A few red-zone stops would go a long way toward keeping this below the number. The projection leaves 2.5 points of room under the line, so we’re backing the Under without treating it as a runaway edge.
J.K. Dobbins is our anytime-touchdown pick at 32¢. He returns after rushing for 772 yards and four touchdowns on 153 carries last season, averaging 5.0 yards per attempt before his Week 10 injury. That production gives us a reason to look his way as Denver tries to leave Kansas City with a win.
His workload is the main question after sitting out the preseason, and we’re not assuming he gets every carry near the goal line. Still, we like Dobbins to account for one of Denver’s scores in the close game our model projects.
Our NFL AI predictions use a custom forecasting process built with GPT-6 Astra to project a final score for each matchup using team strength, current offensive and defensive information, quarterbacks, roster continuity, offseason moves, coaching changes, injuries, and home-field advantage.
Each score projection is locked before the final Kalshi market snapshot used for publication. Those projected scores are then compared with the representative spread and total to produce our ATS and Over/Under selections.
