Our NFL AI predictions for the first week of preseason didn't exactly light the world on fire, but we've calibrated the model to attack a more starter-heavy slate in Week 2 with all 32 teams kicking off tonight through Sunday in the best week for exhibition football.

I built a custom forecasting process using the latest version of ChatGPT to predict the final score for all 16 games this week. The process incorporates real-time information about quarterback rotations, expected playing time, injuries, roster depth, matchup data, and what we learned from our NFL AI picks for Week 1 before using those projections to make ATS and Over/Under picks based on the latest odds from prediction market apps.

We'll also be predicting every matchup throughout the NFL regular season and playoffs. For now, these projections complement the rest of our NFL preseason Week 2 picks.

NFL preseason Week 2 AI predictions: Thursday

Raiders vs. Texans AI prediction

Houston's decision to rest C.J. Stroud and most of its starters after getting extensive work in the teams' joint practice shifts much more of this game toward the reserve units. Las Vegas should get enough out of Fernando Mendoza and its quarterback depth to produce a narrow road win.

Score prediction: Raiders 20, Texans 16

49ers vs. Chargers AI prediction

Justin Herbert's expected one-series appearance isn't the primary reason for this pick. Los Angeles' second units were excellent in a 27-7 preseason opener, and the Chargers followed that with another encouraging showing against San Francisco in joint practice.

That gives Los Angeles an advantage that should persist for much more than the opening series.

Score prediction: Chargers 24, 49ers 13

NFL preseason Week 2 AI predictions: Friday

Jets vs. Steelers AI prediction

Pittsburgh is expected to give virtually all of its quarterback work to Will Howard and Drew Allar after both played well against Green Bay. With Geno Smith's availability less certain for New York, the Steelers enter with the more clearly defined four-quarter quarterback plan.

Score prediction: Steelers 20, Jets 16

Panthers vs. Jaguars AI prediction

Jacksonville's deeper roster showed some resilience while erasing a two-touchdown halftime deficit against New Orleans, and the Jaguars generated more encouraging pressure during this week's joint practice with Carolina. The advantage is modest, but Jacksonville has enough depth to pull ahead late.

Score prediction: Jaguars 20, Panthers 16

Packers vs. Broncos AI prediction

Bo Nix is expected to make his preseason debut, but Denver's biggest advantage comes from the players who will remain on the field after he leaves. The Broncos dominated Atlanta without Nix in their opener, while Green Bay struggled badly once its own game reached the deeper portions of the roster.

Score prediction: Broncos 24, Packers 13

NFL preseason Week 2 AI predictions: Saturday

Commanders vs. Lions AI prediction

Detroit should have the better personnel during the opening portion if its starters receive the expected work, but Washington's reserve rushing attack already showed it can sustain offense without the first unit. Over four quarters, the Commanders get the slightest edge in one of the closest projections of the week.

Score prediction: Commanders 17, Lions 16

Bills vs. Browns AI prediction

Buffalo's offense remained productive after Josh Allen left last week's win, giving the Bills some useful evidence about the portion of the roster that will determine most preseason games. Cleveland has a more defined quarterback evaluation plan this week, but Buffalo's depth provides the stronger four-quarter outlook.

Score prediction: Bills 23, Browns 16

Falcons vs. Colts AI prediction

Indianapolis has supplied one of the cleanest quarterback plans of the week, with Riley Leonard expected to handle the first half before Anthony Richardson takes over. Atlanta is prioritizing its joint-practice work over starter snaps, leaving the Colts with the more stable offensive setup throughout the game.

Score prediction: Colts 20, Falcons 13

Ravens vs. Vikings AI prediction

Baltimore's reserve offense was excellent in its preseason opener, but Minnesota provided an important counterpoint during the teams' joint practice by repeatedly disrupting the Ravens' offense. Baltimore still gets a narrow edge based on its deeper roster, but the gap should be much smaller than last week's result suggests.

Score prediction: Ravens 20, Vikings 17

Saints vs. Rams AI prediction

Both teams received encouraging quarterback play from their reserves last week. Zach Wilson gave New Orleans productive snaps, while rookie Ty Simpson impressed in his first NFL action for Los Angeles.

With capable quarterback depth on both sides, this is one of the better candidates for a higher-scoring game.

Score prediction: Rams 24, Saints 20

Giants vs. Dolphins AI prediction

Miami's new offense looked excellent during Malik Willis' opening touchdown drive last week, then failed to score again after the starters left. That second part matters more for this projection, and New York gets a narrow edge in a game where consistent offense could be difficult to find.

Score prediction: Giants 17, Dolphins 13

Bears vs. Bengals AI prediction

Chicago's backups generated legitimate offense without Caleb Williams last week, and even after heavily regressing that performance, the Bears still have the stronger reserve setup entering Saturday. Cincinnati's first unit may have the early advantage, but the balance shifts toward Chicago as the game progresses.

Score prediction: Bears 23, Bengals 17

Eagles vs. Patriots AI prediction

Extensive joint-practice work should reduce the importance of the starting units, making the reserve quarterbacks and deeper portions of each roster more relevant. Philadelphia's backup offense struggled badly against Baltimore, while New England enters with a somewhat steadier floor behind Drake Maye.

Score prediction: Patriots 20, Eagles 13

Chiefs vs. Buccaneers AI prediction

Baker Mayfield is expected to get his first preseason action after sitting last week, but this isn't merely a bet on his brief appearance. Tampa Bay's reserves also showed enough against the Jets to give the Buccaneers an advantage that should survive after the starters leave.

Score prediction: Buccaneers 23, Chiefs 16

Cowboys vs. Cardinals AI prediction

Dallas received efficient play from both Sam Howell and Joe Milton III in its preseason opener, giving the Cowboys one of the more encouraging reserve-quarterback performances of Week 1. Arizona has enough depth to keep this competitive, but Dallas should create the deciding scoring opportunity late.

Score prediction: Cowboys 23, Cardinals 20

NFL preseason Week 2 AI predictions: Sunday

Seahawks vs. Titans AI prediction

This remains one of the less certain games on the slate, with Seattle and Tennessee still sorting through their rotations around Friday's joint practice. Neither side has established a strong four-quarter advantage, but Tennessee's developmental approach and home depth provide just enough of an edge.

Score prediction: Titans 20, Seahawks 16
