College football player props: Our top Week 1 projections

---|---|---|
Under 290.5 yards passing | -114 | |
Over 16.5 receiving yards | -114 | |
Under 76.5 receiving yards | -114 | |
Under 82.5 receiving yards | -114 | |
Over 42.5 receiving yards | -114 |
Garrett Nussmeier Under 290.5 yards passing
Projection: 260.8 yards
There's no denying Garrett Nussmeier has talent, but he opens up the season in a tough spot. Clemson's defense will be stout once again, and with LSU breaking in a new offensive line (four starters gone), Nussmeier may not have the time needed in the pocket to rack up the passing yards.
Quintrevion Wisner Over 16.5 receiving yards
Projection: 20.5 yards
There's a lot of hype surrounding this year's Texas team, and with good reason. Not only do they have a good QB and WR room, but the running backs can contribute in a big way. Look for Quintrevion Wisner to trouble this Ohio State defense out of the backfield.
Ryan Williams Under 76.5 receiving yards
Projection: 57.5 yards
Ryan Williams will prove to be one of the best receivers in college football this season, but our player prop projection has him struggling to get going early. Alabama's offense will be a work in progress, and facing a stout Florida State team in a true road game is not a recipe for early success.

Jeremiah Smith Under 82.5 receiving yards
Projection: 56.1 yards
There's no denying Jeremiah Smith is the best receiver in college football, but with an unproven quarterback throwing him the ball, against what should be a Top 5 defense in Texas, Smith may take some lumps early on this year.
Malik Rutherford Over 42.5 receiving yards
Projection: 62 yards
Over the last two seasons, Colorado was able to win games despite their defense. Teams carved up the Buffaloes' defense consistently, and I expect more of the same from Georgia Tech. Expect Haynes King and Malik Rutherford to connect early and often on Friday night.
