This spread has ballooned from TCU -7.5 to -9.5 over the last week, and if it gets any larger, I would avoid taking the Horned Frogs. But even as a 9.5-point favorite, Sonny Dykes team can win because of their offensive advantage - the program has averaged 30+ points in each season under Dykes..
QB Jaden Craig is a proven two-year starter at the FCS level and had Harvard ranked No. 16 in offensive SP+ by the end of last season. He’s not the Horned Frogs' only potential All-Big 12 talent either, with wide receiver Jordan Dwyer and running back Jeremy Payne.
That trio should be able to move the ball enough against a UNC defense that’s without its coordinator, Steve Belichick.

It's not the luck of the Irish that has led the last three games at Aviva Stadium to finish with exactly 45 points; it's the impact of asking college teams to travel multiple time zones to open the season in a game that has consistently seen rain.
This year's game could get off to an extra slow offensive start, too, with North Carolina (Billy Edwards Jr.) and TCU (Jaden Craig) both breaking in transfer QBs. The Tar Heels could be in especially bad shape after finishing 124th in SP+ on offense last year and ranking outside the Top 100 in early-down EPA per play.
However, UNC had a Top 40 defense last year, and it should slow TCU down enough for the Under.
