TCU and North Carolina open the college football season in Dublin with both offenses entering new eras.

The Horned Frogs are moving toward a more controlled attack under Gordon Sammis, while Bobby Petrino takes over a Tar Heels offense that desperately needed a reset.

My TCU vs. North Carolina predictions expect both teams to score, with the game total and two team-scoring markets providing the best ways to attack Week 0. Check out all of college football picks for opening weekend here.

North Carolina vs TCU prop pick #1: Over 46.5

Kalshi probability: 51%

Gordan Sammis arrives after coordinating a UConn offense that averaged 35 points per game, and he inherits a strong offensive line, Jeremy Payne in the backfield, and another capable quarterback in Jaden Craig.

The better reason to like the Over, though, is North Carolina. Bobby Petrino takes over an offense that ranked 120th in yards per play last season, but his Arkansas unit finished 13th nationally in total offense and seventh in yards per play.

Billy Edwards Jr. also gives him an experienced quarterback who can exploit TCU's biggest defensive vulnerability. My projection for this game was closer to 48.5, and I'd play it to 54%.

North Carolina vs TCU prop pick #2: TCU over 224.5 receiving yards

Kalshi probability: 51%

QB Jaden Craig replaces Josh Hoover after showing strong accuracy and ball security at Harvard, and he inherits a receiving corps with Jordan Dwyer and Ed Small returning alongside South Alabama transfer Jeremy Scott, who averaged more than 17 yards per reception last season.

North Carolina’s front is also undergoing significant turnover. The Tar Heels lost their leading and second-leading pass rushers along with multiple important defensive linemen, potentially giving Craig the clean pockets he needs to attack downfield.

Sammis may reduce TCU’s overall passing volume, but 224.5 receiving yards doesn’t require the old high-tempo offense. With Craig’s efficiency and a deep group of weapons, the Horned Frogs can clear this number without needing 40-plus attempts. I'd play this to 55%.

North Carolina vs TCU prop pick #3: TCU 1st Half moneyline

Kalshi probability: 68%

TCU returns far more continuity on offense, including Jeremy Payne in the backfield and a veteran group of pass catchers, while North Carolina has had an offseason of chaos. I expect that to show up.

North Carolina may improve as the game settles in, but TCU should have the early execution advantage against a Tar Heels defense replacing several key front-seven contributors.

The Horned Frogs also have the more stable offensive identity entering Week 0, even with Gordon Sammis shifting the attack toward more balance. I’d rather back that continuity before halftime than ask TCU to cover a full-game number, especially with North Carolina carrying enough offensive upside to make the second half more competitive.

We're laying juice here, but I see value all the way to 72%.
