We’re in for a Top 10 battle tonight when the Purdue Boilermakers visit the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The Boilermakers play at a snail's pace and shoot an enormous amount of triples, while the Crimson Tide plays at the second-fastest pace and looks to score inside the arc.
That contrasting style should drastically reduce the number of possessions tonight because both defenses are solid at limiting scoring opportunities and taking away offensive strengths.
Alabama’s defense is solid, allowing only 35% shooting from downtown, which should challenge a Purdue group heavily reliant on the triple.
Purdue’s defensive efficiency is still Top 50 at KenPom, and the return of Trey Kaufman-Ren should help stymie a Crimson Tide group getting 53.6% of its production from inside the arc.
