No. 2 Michigan has been the most dominant team in basketball over the last month.
Now that Big Ten play has begun, the Wolverines will look to continue rolling against Maryland for their first road game of the conference schedule.
The Wolverines football team has produced plenty of drama this week, but the Michigan basketball team should be able to avoid it.

Michigan vs Maryland best bet: Michigan -17.5 (-110)
The Michigan Wolverines are 9-0 on the season, including three wins against Quad I teams and three more against Quad II. Starting Thanksgiving week, however, the Wolverines went from being merely great to historically dominant.
Against a challenging field at the Players Era Championship in Las Vegas, Michigan made a shambles of the event, beating San Diego State by 40, then becoming the first team to beat ranked teams by 30 on back-to-back days, hammering No. 21 Auburn and No. 12 Gonzaga by a combined 70-point margin.
The Wolverines haven't slowed down, winning their Big Ten opener by 41 points over Rutgers and then beating Villanova by 28. They're the top-rated team by virtually every analytics service.
Michigan has a pair of 7-footers and a wave of 6-foot-7 to 6-foot-9 wings, which give it the best interior game in the country. The Wolverines hit 65% of their two-point shots and allowed just 38% of two-pointers to opponents.
They also block 7.7% of opponents' shots and rank third in rebounding differential in the country.
That's a bad matchup for the Maryland Terrapins, which has allowed Gonzaga, Alabama, and Marquette to rebound 39% of their own misses. The Terps have impressive season stats, but they're inflated against the worst teams on the schedule.
Against power conference foes, Maryland is 1-4, including 0-3 in Quad I games.
If there's an Achilles heel for Michigan, it's turnover rate. The Wolverines lost the ball at a 31% clip in a closer-than-expected four-point win over TCU early this season. Point guard Elliot Cadeau has struggled with turnovers at times this year.
However, Maryland has not had a turnover rate above 17% against any power-conference team.
A team could turn Cadeau over and come close to matching Michigan inside, which appears to be the key to an upset. Maryland is not a good candidate to pull off that blueprint, however.

Michigan has scored 100 or more in three of its last four and has topped 89 in the previous five, all against major conference foes. The Wolverines play at the No. 13 tempo in the country. Maryland has given up 100 to its last two power-conference opponents and has gone over in its last four against major conference teams.
Auburn's Keshawn Hall averages 20.8 points. Michigan held him to 15. Gonzaga's Graham Ike (16.4 points) shot 0-of-9 for 1 point. Villanova's Bryce Lindsay (16.4) shot 1-of-5 for 3. Michigan takes away a team's top scorer with a vengeance. Maryland's Pharrel Payne is next up.
