When the Pirates and Bluejays met early in January, the two teams were on opposite ends of the spectrum from the 3-point line.
In that game, Creighton was a ridiculous 13 for 24 from the outside, while Seton Hall was just 3 of 18. Those numbers are bound to even out when the teams clash in New Jersey tonight. While crowds aren’t quite as big as normal right now, the Bluejays have had some fans at their games, so one would think they won’t be quite as hot in a silent road arena.
Seton Hall’s offense isn’t nearly as bad as the team let on in that first meeting between these teams. The Pirates shot only 33.3 percent from the floor in that game, but they have the 27th-ranked adjusted offensive efficiency in all of college basketball (according to KenPom.com) and they should be able to get back on track here. Look for them to go to Sandro Mamukelashvili often in this game. The senior is one of the most creative big men in the nation, so he should be able to finish around the basket himself or find his teammates some open shots. Despite the fact that he only had 14 points the last time these teams met, the Bluejays really don't have an answer for him inside—he should be a lot better tonight.
