When LeBron James speaks, the whole world listens.
After teasing a "Second Decision" on his social media, slated to air Tuesday, October 7 at Noon ET, the 23-year NBA veteran will have sports fans clinging to his every word.

Will he announce his plans to retire and shake up the NBA odds? Or will he simply announce some sort of media partnership or another signature shoe?
With LeBron James, anything is possible, and the world will surely be watching.
LeBron James' Second Decision
There's not a lot of information to go on here, but that doesn't mean we can't speculate about what King James has to share with the world.
My original thought was that he would wish my wife and me a Happy Anniversary, but, well, that's just speculation.
Instead, Kalshi — the premier prediction market — has markets available surrounding his upcoming retirement and whether or not he'll be a majority owner of a men's basketball team before 2030.
With the market as fluid as ever, let's break down the likelihood of these two things happening.
Will LeBron James announce his retirement before the 2026-27 season?

When LeBron James steps on the court in the Los Angeles Lakers' season opener vs. the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, October 21, he will embark on his 23rd season in the NBA. His name and legacy will forever be etched in history as one of — if not the greatest players of all time.
He's coming off a season in which the 39-year-old registered 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists in 35 minutes of average game time. Those are incredible numbers for anyone, let alone someone pushing 40.
But like all good things, his time in the NBA must come to an end, but as the Kalshi markets indicate, it doesn't appear to be anytime soon.
LeBron is currently trading at 76% to not announce his retirement before the 2026-27 season, and his media day presser backs up that sentiment.
Despite the Lakers trading for Luka Doncic, James says he does not feel pressured or influenced by Doncic's presence.
LeBron James has always done what's best for LeBron James, and I don't expect that to change anytime soon.

LeBron James is filthy rich. His net worth sits around $1.3 billion, meaning he can buy or do just about anything without losing sleep over it.
He originally invested $6.5 million in Liverpool F.C. before converting that stake into a broader 1% ownership of Fenway Sports Group — the parent company of the Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Penguins.
If he’d held onto his original Liverpool shares, that investment alone would now be worth over $120 million.
James has made no secret of his desire to own an NBA team, and his growing sports portfolio makes that goal look more inevitable than ambitious.

With the league expected to expand before 2030, possibly into Las Vegas, LeBron might soon be signing checks instead of contracts.

Will LeBron talk about "taking his talent" elsewhere as he did during the original Decision, when he announced his relocation to Miami? Or will his announcement be a tie-in to a TV special or new series? "Prime" certainly offers good value if today's big reveal is about LeBron giving love to one of his big sponsors as Amazon Day kicks off today.
