Cavaliers vs Celtics prediction

Cavaliers vs Celtics best betCavaliers -3.5 (-110 at bet365)

Last season, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics dueled for the top position in the Eastern Conference heading into the playoffs.

But that’s unlikely to be the case again this year, as Boston will spend at least a large portion of the season without Tatum in the lineup after he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during the playoffs against the New York Knicks.

So far, the Celtics haven’t found a way to look like a contender without their star. Jaylen Brown (26.0 ppg) has picked up much of the scoring slack, but the loss of Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis has left this roster looking dangerously thin compared to last season.

Even Brown is dealing with his own hamstring issue and is likely not yet at 100%, playing 24 minutes and scoring just 15 points on Monday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

On the other hand, Cleveland looks set for another big season after last year’s incredible turnaround under Kenny Atkinson. Donovan Mitchell (31.3 ppg) and Evan Mobley (18.3 ppg) have led the Cavs to three straight wins after a season opening loss to the Knicks, and they should roll again tonight.

I’m taking Cleveland to cover.

Cavaliers vs Celtics same-game parlay

Both teams have been playing to relatively low totals, with the Celtics in particular playing to a slow pace, which has me looking at the Under tonight.

I’ll round out the SGP by taking Evan Mobley to hit his PRA total, as he’s put up a combined average of 34.4 so far this season.

  • Cavaliers -3.5
  • Under 233.5
  • Evan Mobley Over 32.5 points + rebounds + assists

Our "from downtown" SGP: Mitchell pours it on C's

  • Cavaliers -3.5
  • Under 233.5
  • Evan Mobley Over 32.5 PRA
  • Donovan Mitchell Over 29.5 points

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
