This New York Yankees season continues to teeter between hope and despair, but a trip to face the also-ran Chicago White Sox tonight should keep the Bronx Bombers on an upward track.

New York has put together a four-game win streak to stay alive in the AL East race, and my Yankees vs. White Sox predictions signal another strong outing from the visitors here against an overmatched Chicago team.

Read on for my free MLB picks and betting angles for this August 28 battle.

Yankees vs White Sox prediction

Yankees vs White Sox best betYankees First Five Innings -0.5 (-130)

The New York Yankees arrive at Rate Field with a chance to crank up the pressure on their division rivals. Facing a Chicago White Sox ballclub that drags an ugly 48-85 record into tonight’s series opener, Aaron Judge and Co. are understandably heavy favorites – and this F5 innings prop looks like the best value on the board for backing the visitors.

The sky was falling for the Yankees last week when they dropped three straight home games to the Boston Red Sox, but the bats have rebounded since then, and New York is still lurking in the AL East race with huge September matchups around the corner.

The Yankees blasted their way past the Washington Nationals this week, scoring 26 runs in that three-game sweep, and they crushed six home runs last night, setting a new record with their third game this year in which six different players thumped a dinger.

That spells trouble for White Sox starter Davis Martin, who’s logged a steady 3.93 ERA this year but now faces a batting order stacked with red-hot hitters. He may not get much run support either, with this Chicago lineup averaging 3.94 RPG.

New York sends Will Warren to the bump this evening, and I prefer to trust in his 3.08 ERA over his last five outings. This feels like a spot for the visitors to land some early blows and cash this F5 innings prop.

Yankees vs White Sox same-game parlay (SGP)

Take your pick of in-form New York hitters for a SGP, but I like Cody Bellinger to put together some great at-bats here.

He finished with three hits yesterday against the Nationals, including a solo shot for his 25th homer of the season, and he’s tallied nine hits across his past five contests.

As potent as this New York offense has looked, I have my doubts about the erratic Chicago lineup coming to the party against Will Warren, especially on the heels of being blown out 12-1 yesterday by the Kansas City Royals.

I’ll take the Under on an adjusted 10-run total for a little extra cushion to withstand more fireworks from the visitors.
