The wheels continue to turn on the World Series when the Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers meet for Game 4 tonight at Chase Field. The Snakes need to answer back after Texas took care of business to take a 2-1 series lead last night and shorten their World Series odds.
Now the Rangers are just two wins away from reaching the top of the mountain. They have also tied the record for most consecutive postseason road wins with nine in a row — can they break it tonight?
MLB odds aren't so sure they can, but regardless, I'll be looking at another angle to capitalize on this game as a side bet is sitting at a coin flip with both sides hovering around -110. Find out what my angle is in my MLB picks for Game 4 between the Rangers vs. Diamondbacks.

Rangers vs Diamondbacks picks and predictions
With two pitchers on the mound that could see limited action, this isn't the easiest handicap. Let's start with what we know.
We know that Joe Mantiply will take the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight and is extremely unlikely to go more than one inning. He did once in these playoffs, which came against the Los Angeles Dodgers when he went 1 and 1/3 innings.
We know Arizona has limited bullpen depth. Kevin Ginkel is strong, and Luis Firas is as well, but after that, questions can arise. We don't know who or when they are coming out of the bullpen tonight, but there's a reasonably good likelihood they'll have some questions.
Finally, we know Andrew Heaney hasn't been trusted in the postseason. Jon Gray was supposed to start this one, but after the Scherzer injury last night, things changed. Heaney has gone over one inning once this postseason and has given up four earned runs in six frames. There's a chance he could get a few innings tonight, but I'd lean towards this turning into a bullpen game.
Those are the three things we know about this matchup. The questions surrounding what pitchers will enter this game significantly impact our ability to handicap it. My strongest takeaway is there should be plenty of runs, and I'm grabbing Over 9.5 as my best bet. My projections priced this one at 10.5, which gives me a strong edge here, and I'll have to jump on it in a game full of unanswered questions.
Arizona should be able to jump on Heaney even if his stay is brief. The D-Backs have hit lefties exceptionally well this postseason — with a batting average of .306 against them — and there's no reason they shouldn't have success here.
Heaney has been underwhelming throughout the year, particularly with the hard-hit ball with a barrel rate and average exit velocity that rank in the Bottom 20% of the league. Arizona has a good enough offense to take advantage of this without a good matchup, but it helps it'lll see a lot of fastballs. The Diamondbacks have four players in today's lineup with a hard-hit rate over the league average against it.
Conversely, it feels like we can give the Texas Rangers the benefit of the doubt here and say they'll succeed against primarily any pitcher they see. Texas has the best offense this postseason in baseball and has posted ridiculous numbers against the fastball. It's scored four or more runs in seven of the last nine games, and if it can do that again, we should get this one home.
Take the Over tonight. With two suspect pitchers starting the game and some questionable bullpens, it's the best bet on the board.
My best bet: Over 9.5 (+115 at bet365)

Rangers vs Diamondbacks same-game parlay
Let's keep this one short and sweet. I'm pairing the Over with a player prop for a very hot hitter.
That hitter is Corey Seager. He's gone Over this number in four straight games, and I won't overthink this. Seager will see a decent amount of fastballs and unconvincing pitchers — two things he's good at taking advantage of.

Rangers vs Diamondbacks moneyline and Over/Under analysis
I don't have a side here that I have much conviction on. I'd lean towards the Diamondbacks, but it's ever so slightly.
I like the matchup for Arizona tonight better than I do for Texas. The D-backs can pull out three pitchers in relief with an expected FIP under four, which is more than the Rangers can offer. In addition, Arizona's dominance against left-handed pitching is likely the strongest single angle in this matchup. There's a reason that Vegas is lining this game as a coin flip, and I'm certainly inclined to agree. It's a pass for me.
Every game in this series has taken money to the Over, and every total has closed a half run higher than what it opened. I'm not expecting this one to be any different. Last night broke a streak of three consecutive matchups that had gone Over between these two teams. In addition, it broke a streak of seven successive games that had gone Over in games played by the Rangers. The reason for that is just how impressive this offense has been. I expect it to get going again tonight.

Starting pitchers
Joe Mantiply (2-0, 4.26 ERA): Mantiply will serve as the opener for the D-backs tonight. He hasn't gone more than one inning in any of his eight appearances, but he's just given up runs in just one of them. That came against the Philadelphia Phillies when they ran him from the game after recording just one out.
Andrew Heaney (0-0, 6.00 ERA): It could have been a better postseason for Heaney. He could serve as an opener tonight, but there is more chance he goes deeper into the game. Either way, I don't expect him to have much success.
