The Minnesota Twins’ offense woke up in a big way on Friday in a 12-6 win over the Seattle Mariners, and now they’ll look to inflict some more damage upon right-hander Bryce Miller.

My Twins vs Mariners predictions break down why this matchup should suit Minnesota’s probable starter, and why Miller should be in for more misery.

Twins vs Mariners prediction

My Twins vs Mariners best bet: Twins moneyline (-106 at FanDuel)

We continue to wait for the Bryce Miller that was promised a season ago, but to this point, there are few signs of life.

The Seattle Mariners right-hander is off to a rough start with a 5.22 ERA through eight appearances, and under the hood, things are even worse. Miller comes home with a .282 Expected Batting Average, which is far above the league average, and while he’s done his best to limit the damage overall on contact, he’s giving up runners with far too much consistency.

Miller’s strikeout rate is down four points to a measly 20.1% this year, and most alarmingly, his walk rate has jumped to 12.1%. That’s put the onus on the youngster to rack up outs on contact, and to this point, we haven’t seen him do it. He’s allowed 11 earned runs in two starts this month and is now facing a Minnesota Twins offense that is coming off a 12-run outing last night.

On the other side of the coin, we’ve got Twins starter Bailey Ober. He’s one of the most extreme fly-ball pitchers in the league, and Ober is about to step into one of the hardest parks to homer in.

The Mariners have also lost their way a bit with a 16th-ranked wRC+ in the last two weeks, failing to provide any sort of pop with a .145 Isolated Power. Against a master of control in Ober, this offense should fail to find any sort of consistency.

Take the Twins to grab another road win at T-Mobile Park.

Twins vs Mariners same-game parlay (SGP)

Twins moneyline

Bryce Miller Under 4.5 strikeouts

Ty France 1+ hits

It’s hard not to fade Miller’s strikeout prop tonight. He’s punched out a total of four batters in his last two outings — spanning nine innings — and on top of that, he’s only hit this mark three times in eight appearances.

The other component to this parlay will be Ty France against his former team. It’s hard to find a hotter hitter right now on this Minnesota team; he’s on an eight-game hitting streak and is sporting a .281 average over that span. On top of that, he’s fifth on the team in total bases against fly-ball arms, hitting .257 in the split with five extra-base hits to boot.

I expect Minnesota to continue rising after a solid showing on Friday, and France should be front and center.
