The Detroit Tigers snapped a four-game skid in yesterday’s series opener against the Kansas City Royals and will look to carry that momentum into tonight’s matchup at Kauffman Stadium.

My Tigers vs. Royals predictions expect Riley Greene to continue to dominate at the plate against Kansas City.

Tigers vs Royals prediction

Tigers vs Royals best bet: Riley Greene Over 1.5 total bases (+110)

Riley Greene came up big for the Detroit Tigers in Friday’s series opener against the Kansas City Royals with three hits, including a two-run double in the fourth, to guide his team to a 5-3 victory.

Greene has been mashing the ball over the past week and doing a ton of damage against the Royals in particular. The Tigers outfielder is batting .391 over the last seven days with a team-leading nine hits, seven RBI, and 16 total bases. In Detroit’s four meetings with Kansas City over that span, Greene has six hits and two home runs.

He has also accrued Over 1.5 total bases in five of his last seven games and should do some more damage tonight against Stephen Kolek, a Triple-A call-up making his Royals debut. Kolek posted a 4.18 ERA and 1.31 WHIP over 14 starts with the San Diego Padres this season.

Tigers vs Royals same-game parlay (SGP)

A pitching matchup between Kolek and Jack Flaherty does not inspire a ton of confidence, as both guys have been beaten up this season.

Flaherty is coming off an eight-run thrashing by the Royals last Sunday and has allowed 5+ earned runs in three of his last four starts, so I suspect the runs to flow freely tonight.

Bobby Witt Jr. is batting .337 in August but has generally been playing small ball, with nine of his last 10 hits being singles.
