The Milwaukee Brewers have stumbled a little bit down the stretch, dropping four of their last five games.

My Reds vs. Brewers predictions see the home side bouncing back and clinching top spot in the NL with a win tonight.

We’ll break down why with my Saturday, September 27 MLB picks.

Reds vs Brewers prediction

Reds vs Brewers best bet: Brewers moneyline (-135)

Andrew Abbott has pitched very well for the Cincinnati Reds this season, but he’s hit a wall of late, conceding at least three runs in five of his past nine starts.

His struggles have become especially apparent on the road, where he’s allowed 20 runs over his last six games.

There isn’t much reason to believe things will get better against the Milwaukee Brewers, who have hit lefties very well this year, and their numbers are actually trending upwards.

They lead the majors with a .287 batting average and sit fourth in wOBA against left-handed pitching since August 1st.

Milwaukee has performed even better on home soil, hitting .307 with an absurd .408 OBP during that span.

This is a spot where the Brewers should score, and I’m not sure the Reds can keep up. We haven’t seen much from their offense on the road of late, ranking 23rd in OBP since August 1st.

Look for the Brewers to get to Abbott en route to a win.

Reds vs Brewers same-game parlay (SGP)

Jackson Chourio often sets the table for the Brewers, especially when facing left-handed pitching. He’s hit .333 on the season with an OBP of .382. He is consistently getting on base and has the speed to be a real scoring threat once he’s on.

Andrew Vaughn owns a .380 average and an OPS nearing 1.000 when facing lefties over the past seven weeks. He’s as likely as anybody to drive in a runner.
