The Boston Red Sox will look to top the New York Yankees for the ninth straight time while also pulling off a four-game series sweep at Yankee Stadium on Sunday Night Baseball.

My top Red Sox vs. Yankees predictions and MLB picks are calling for New York to flip the script with Carlos Rodon leading the way Sunday, August 24.

Red Sox vs Yankees prediction for Sunday Night Baseball

Red Sox vs Yankees best bet: Yankees -1.5 (+122)

Red Sox vs Yankees best bet analysis

The New York Yankees are in a good spot with a second-ranked wOBA against right-handed pitchers, and Boston Red Sox righty Dustin May has posted a ho-hum 4.59 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 4.30 xFIP across a career-high 119 2/3 innings.

He previously topped out at 56 frames in 2020, and this will also be his first career start in homer-happy Yankee Stadium.

Additionally, even though Yankee starter Aaron Judge has been a bit quiet with an uncharacteristically low .806 OPS since returning to action, New York has gone 9-6 during the stretch despite posting an unsustainably low and 28th-ranked .255 BABIP.

New York also has a sizable pitching advantage with lefty Carlos Rodon toeing the rubber. He’s spun a tidy 3.24 ERA and 1.07 WHIP this season and has also been sharp at home the past two years with respective 2.98 and 0.98 marks across 154 innings over 26 starts.

Red Sox vs Yankees same-game parlay analysis

Even with the daunting matchup against Rodon on deck, the Red Sox should do their part to take this total Over the number. Boston ranks fifth in wOBA against lefties, after all.

Turning to the final leg of this same-game parlay, May has fanned five or more batters in three of his past four starts and flashes swing-and-miss stuff. The Yankees have the sixth-highest strikeout percentage against righties, too.

  • Run line: Boston +1.5 (-150) | New York -1.5 (+125)
