My analysis
After opening the series with a 5-1 loss, The Boston Red Sox offense has come to life, totaling 17 runs across the next two wins, including a Red Sox 5-1 win Saturday.
Boston is one of the few teams that can match scoring with the Baltimore Orioles, ranking fourth in runs scored in the bigs, just 14 runs behind the Orioles who sit in third.
The Red Sox might need as much offense as they can get Sunday, as they turn the starting duties over to Kutter Crawford.
The 28-year-old righty has been getting dragged in his last five starts, giving up at least four earned runs in each of them, failing to last longer than 5 1/3 innings in any of them.
He’s also been taken yard 13 times over those starts, which has helped lift him into a tie for the most homers allowed this season with 27.
The Orioles have touched up Crawford already. On May 29, they hung five earned runs on him and chased him after six innings in a 6-1 win.
Baltimore is looking to bounce back after its lowest-scoring output game against Boston this season. Before posting just a single run, the O’s had averaged 7.5 over the previous eight games, going 6-2 in those games.
On the mound, they’re going with Albert Suarez, who hasn’t surrendered an earned run in each of his last two starts, spanning 11 2/3 innings.
Then again, he faced some pop-gun lineups in the Rays and Blue Jays. In his five prior starts, he surrendered 32 hits in 19 1/3 innings of work, and 18 earned runs, giving up at least three earned runs in all but one outing.
Both teams are in the Bottom 8 of ERA over the past week, with the Red Sox staff posting a fourth-worst 5.63 ERA, with Baltimore in eighth at 5.09.
Each of Crawford’s last five starts has seen a combined score of over 10 runs, while Suarez’s starts have crossed 10 runs twice in his last four outings.

It seems wrong not to take a stab at a HR prop in this same-game parlay when you have the co-leader in homers surrendered on the season.
We’ll target Baltimore’s home-run leader Anthony Santander, who sits third in dingers on the year with 36.
Santander hasn’t gone yard in this series yet, with just a couple of hits and runs scored, but he has hit long balls in nine straight series. He is hitting .364 lifetime against Crawford in 11 at-bats, including a home run.
It’s been a productive series for leadoff man Jarren Duran, who followed up his 3-for-5 effort Friday, which included a home run and RBI, with another hit and a pair of runs batted in Saturday.
In his last 16 games, Duran has recorded at least one hit in 12 of them. He’ll be facing Suarez for the first time, but he’s hitting righties at a sharp .303 clip this season.
