We head into another weekend full of baseball, which means a cornucopia of MLB prop bets to choose from, and Friday night should be a doozy.

You still have time to hop on the Ronald Acuna total bases prop bet train as the Braves visit the Cubs, and we find another way to bet Jacob deGrom starts after yesterday’s game was rained out.

We bring you that and more with our best MLB free prop bet picks and predictions for Friday, April 16.

Today’s MLB props and picks

Ronald Acuna Over 1.5 Total Bases (+110)

Welcome aboard the Ronald Acuna train, where you will notice a mountain of extra-base hits off to the right, and on the left, an unending ocean of MLB prop betting profit.

Jokes aside, Acuna is absolutely tearing the cover off the ball at the moment, and it looks like there is no slowing him down. Acuna has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games. He has eight multi-hit games this season. And at least one extra-base hit in nine games. The dude is just locked in, cashing the Over 1.5 total bases prop nine times.

Friday afternoon, he goes up against Cubs starter Zach Davies. The right-hander has had a bit of a rough start to his tenure in Chicago, getting lit up for an 11.05 ERA and a 2.05 WHIP. Lit up, by the Pirates that is. Davies has had trouble with his command, walking six batters in seven innings, and missing your spots against Acuna is never a recipe for success.

We are once again getting excellent value with this prop so you can bet we’re going to keep riding this MLB prop bet profit train until Acuna drastically cools off. Until then, choo choo!

Rockies Five Inning Team Total Under 1.5  (-115)

(Editor's Note: Tonight's Mets-Rockies game has been postponed due to snow.)

We were robbed of our first deGrom Day prop bet of the season thanks to some rain, with Jacob deGrom’s start being pushed back to Friday night’s matchup against the Colorado Rockies instead. Which means we have to pivot our play.

Right off the bat, deGrom is the best pitcher in baseball. His fastball velocity is up and regularly hits 100 on the radar gun these days. And he can locate it wherever he damn well pleases. deGrom also looks locked in to start 2021.

He's allowed just one run on eight hits while striking out 21 batters in 14 innings. Yet, the Mets are 0-2 in his starts. So, we can’t just bet the Mets on the runline or anything like that for fear of screwing up another one of his starts.

Well, the Rockies can’t hit worth a lick off of right-handers, ranking 26th in batting average (.199) and 27th in OPS (.607). And deGrom is the best. So, taking them to stay Under their first five-inning team total seems like a solid bet.

Yusei Kikuchi Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-150)

It may be early, but Yusei Kikuchi is having his best season as a Seattle Mariner since coming over from Japan. The lefty has a 3.75 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP while recording 16 strikeouts in 12 innings of work this season, but Ks might be hard to come by when he faces off against the Houston Astros on Friday.

The Astros have traditionally been one of the most disciplined teams at the dish over the last several years (maybe that has something to do with a trash can, but who knows), and this season has been no different. Houston strikes out just 7.33 times per game this season, which is the second-best mark in the MLB.

While this is a bit of a juicy play, Kikuchi has never had more than five strikeouts in five career starts against the Astros. So, if anything, this feels like a safe bet to start the weekend off right with.

Yesterday's MLB record: 1-1, +0.15 units
