There are just two days left in the regular season, and I’ve dug deep to find the top MLB player props for Saturday. Justin Verlander, Tomoyuki Sugano, and Aaron Judge will be included.

Best MLB player props today

  • Giants Verlander o5.5 strikeouts (-143)
  • Orioles Sugano o3.5 earned runs (-105)
  • Yankees Judge o1.5 hits (+165)

Our 3 best MLB player props for Saturday, September 27

Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.

Prop #1: Justin Verlander Over 5.5 strikeouts

-143 at BetMGM

Justin Verlander makes his final start of the season this afternoon, as he faces the Colorado Rockies. That’s one of the worst lineups in the big leagues, and it’s a chance for the future Hall of Famer to finish on a high note. It wasn’t the greatest campaign for Verlander, but I’m eyeing him to have a quality outing here.

Instead of focusing on earned runs, I’m expecting Verlander to rack up the strikeouts. He’s always been capable of doing so, and he still collected 130 punchouts in 146 innings of work this year. While he’s only cashed the Over twice in his last five appearances, the Rockies are striking out over 12 times per game across their last three.

Also, Colorado ranks second-last in the MLB in team strikeouts. Verlander’s swing and miss stuff plays a lot better at Oracle Park, striking out 87 in 85.1 innings of work.

Prop #2: Tomoyuki Sugano Over 3.5 earned runs

-105 at BetMGM

Tomoyuki Sugano’s first season in the Majors was respectable, pitching to a 4.54 ERA and 10-9 record across 29 appearances. However, he’s had minimal success against the New York Yankees, and I’m predicting the righty to get lit up by the surging Bronx Bombers, who have won six in a row.

Sugano has allowed Over 3.5 earned runs three times in his last five starts. The Yankees are hitting .333 against him, and Sugano’s ERA versus Baltimore’s AL East foes sits at 5.40 ERA in three outings. He’s allowed seven earned runs to them in just 11.2 innings of work.

New York is hot, and they will take advantage of Sugano’s recent struggles.

Prop #3: Aaron Judge Over 1.5 hits

+165 at BetMGM

We’ll stick with the Yanks for the last pick of the day. Aaron Judge has been raking all year, and he just went deep for the 52nd time on Friday. He continues to make a case for AL MVP alongside Cal Raleigh, and there’s every reason to believe Judge will have another banner performance this afternoon.

As I mentioned, a lot of New York's lineup has enjoyed success against Sugano. But, none as much as Judge, who is 6-for-7 lifetime versus the Japan native. That includes a pair of round-trippers. Judge has cashed the Over in hits in two of his previous three appearances as well, even banging out three hits on Wednesday against the Chicago White Sox.

The pressure is on as the Yankees battle it out for the AL East title, and Judge will step up today. His confidence will be sky high with Sugano on the hill.
