The Brew Crew have been dominant at home, and they're in a good position to crush a Phillies' side fresh off Sunday Night Baseball.

A pair of National League contenders meet at American Family Field, with the Philadelphia Phillies visiting the Milwaukee Brewers to start a three-game set on Monday, September 1.

My  Phillies vs. Brewers predictions and MLB picks anticipate Milwaukee winning comfortably this afternoon.

Phillies vs Brewers best bet: Brewers -1.5 (+135)

Phillies vs Brewers best bet analysis

This is a horrible turnaround for the Philadelphia Phillies after losing 3-1 at Citizens Bank Park to the Atlanta Braves on Sunday Night Baseball, only to hit American Family Field for an afternoon tilt against the best team in baseball.

The Milwaukee Brewers sport a 45-24 home record, and they’ll also be looking to hit the restart button following a 6-8 stretch to finish August.

I like their chances with Philly veteran Taijuan Walker beginning to show his true colors with seven earned runs on 13 hits and four free passes allowed over just 10 innings across his past two starts.

Walker’s 3.63 ERA is also well below his 4.48 xFIP, and his 78.0% strand rate is also his highest mark over the past five seasons.

Turning to Brewers starter Jacob Misiorowski, while there have been hiccups on the hill for the rookie, this will also be the first time the Phillies face him.

Additionally, his underlying numbers are just the opposite of Walker’s. Misiorowski’s 4.33 ERA looks unsustainably high given his elite 2.92 xFIP, and his 64.3% strand rate is also going to climb.

Phillies vs Brewers same-game parlay analysis

With Walker’s recent struggles, I’m expecting the heart of the Milwaukee lineup to do damage, and outfielder Christian Yelich has a high-end .376 wOBA and .240 ISO against right-handed pitchers this season.

For what it’s worth, Yelich is also 5-for-10 with a 1.445 OPS against Walker in his career.

Philly first baseman Bryce Harper lines up for a slump-busting showing this afternoon. He’s gone 0-for-7 at the dish the past two days, but was rolling along a 12-game hitting streak while piling up nine runs, 19 hits, and 10 RBI with a 1.049 OPS.
