Who will win Mets vs Dodgers today: Dodgers moneyline (-170)
The 11-4 Los Angeles Dodgers are set to face New York Mets southpaw David Peterson, who has a 6.14 ERA through three starts. Opponents are hitting .344 against him, and it won’t get any easier here.
This Dodgers lineup is batting .325 across 125 at-bats against Peterson, including five doubles and seven home runs. Los Angeles is also swinging it very well against left-handed hurlers, batting .286.
The defending champs also just took two out of three from the Rangers at Dodger Stadium, and they’ve won two of their last three meetings with New York at home.
COVERS INTEL: The Mets face lefty Justin Wrobleski tonight, and they’re batting just .236 off southpaws. Wrobleski also held Toronto to one earned run in his last outing.
Mets vs Dodgers Over/Under pick: Under 9 (-115)
Four of the last six meetings between L.A. and New York have cashed the Under. The Dodgers will score runs off Peterson, but the Mets, on the other hand, are 21st in scoring and have lost five straight.
In fact, they’ve failed to score a single run in two of their last three games, with the Athletics shutting them out on Friday and on Sunday. Los Angeles is ninth in the Majors with a 3.63 ERA, and their bullpen has also been stellar, compiling a 3.00 ERA.
The majority of the offense in the series opener will come from the World Series winners.
