The Toronto Blue Jays return to the World Series for the first time since winning consecutive championships in 1992 and 1993, while the Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to be the first back-to-back winners since the New York Yankees capped off a three-peat in 2000.
Toronto will host Game 1 at the Rogers Centre on Friday, October 24, and my Dodgers vs. Blue Jays predictions expect Los Angeles starter Blake Snell to lead the way in winning fashion in the series opener.
Here are my full MLB picks for the World Series opener.

Dodgers vs Blue Jays Game 1 predictions
Who will win Dodgers vs Blue Jays Game 1
Blake Snell has been next to flawless this postseason and has a track record of playoff success, including a pair of World Series starts on his resume.
Toronto doesn’t have the same postseason experience on the mound or heading to the dish, and I’m expecting that to be a major difference in the series opener Friday night.
Dodgers vs Blue Jays best bet
Dodgers moneyline (-150)
The Los Angeles Dodgers send veteran lefty Blake Snell to the hill for Game 1, and he’s been nothing short of spectacular this season with a 2.35 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 3.09 xFIP with even better 0.86, 0.52, and 1.77 marks across a trio of playoff starts.
Snell also made two starts in the 2020 World Series and sports a career 2.58 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with a healthy 11.5 K/9 across 69 2/3 innings.
Only two Toronto Blue Jays regulars have faced Snell 10+ times, and the lefty has held them both in check, with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. posting a pedestrian .630 OPS, and George Springer only marginally better at .655.
Additionally, while the Blue Jays ranked fourth in wOBA against southpaws during the regular season, they dropped to 12th in ISO and had the fifth-highest BABIP.
For comparison, the Dodgers were third in wOBA, fourth in ISO, and 17th in BABIP against righties.
Obviously, while the elephant in the room is who will start Game 1 for the Blue Jays, I’m giving the pitching edge to Los Angeles in the series opener regardless of who toes the rubber for Toronto.
Dodgers vs Blue Jays Game 1same-game parlay (SGP)
Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts have both had solid postseasons with respective .375 and .353 wOBAs. Ohtani has six extra-base hits, and Betts has five.
I also value Betts having 84 games of postseason experience, while Ohtani is up to 26 and a climbing .848 OPS across 124 plate appearances.

- Dodgers -1.5
- Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 total bases
