The Los Angeles Dodgers will begin their World Series title defense on the road as they’re in Toronto to take on the Blue Jays.

The Dodgers are understandably favored in this series, and my Dodgers vs. Blue Jays predictions shine a light on the start of this series to kick things off.

Find out why in my MLB picks for Friday, October 24.

Dodgers vs Blue Jays player prop picks

Prop #1: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 0.5 singles

-105 at BetMGM

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was a singles machine during the regular season, and he has carried that forward into the playoffs.

While the power has also shown up, Guerrero Jr. has continued to stack singles. He’s hit 10 singles through 11 playoff games, including six over six contests in Toronto.

Guerrero Jr. hit for a much higher average against left-handed pitching this year. He was very effective against the fastball, batting .295 vs. lefties throwing that pitch. Blake Snell uses it more than any other when facing right-handed batters.

Snell doesn’t give up many hits, but when he does, they tend to be singles, with 75% of the hits allowed vs. righties going for just one base.

Prop #2: Blake Snell Under 1.5 earned runs

-105 at BetMGM

Blake Snell has pitched lights out over the past six weeks. He allowed only three runs spanning six starts in that span, four of which came against playoff teams (Philadelphia x2, Milwaukee, Cincinnati). It’s not as if he’s feasted on lesser competition — he’s gotten the job done against quality opponents.

He’s only allowed two runs over 21 innings of work in these playoffs, striking out 28 while giving up just six hits. He has completely dominated.

The Toronto Blue Jays were a solid offense against left-handed pitching this season, but they ranked 17th in homers and 23rd in flyball rate. Their production more so stemmed from stringing together hits, which is very tough to do against Snell.

Prop #3: Mookie Betts Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

-125 at BetMGM

Mookie Betts did not have a banner year, but it’s not about how you start; it’s about how you finish, and Betts finished amazingly well.

He posted a .317 average with 34 RBIs and 32 runs from August 5th through the remainder of the regular season. Betts has produced in the playoffs as well, clearing this line in six of 10 starts thus far.

Trey Yesavage has had more trouble with righties than lefties, positioning this Blue Jays killer to make some noise in the series opener.
