Diamondbacks vs Brewers best bet: Brewers moneyline (-141)
Despite being under .500 as late as May 26, the Milwaukee Brewers have come out of nowhere to take the league’s best record at 83-50.
They'll turn to Quinn Priester (11-2, 3.44 ERA) as they try to complete the sweep tonight, while the Arizona Diamondbacks trot out Ryne Nelson (6-3, 3.63 ERA).
Milwaukee is 17-7 in Priester’s starts this season, which includes victories in all of his outings since May 30. The young right-hander boasts a 3.01 ERA in that span.
Nelson has slowed down a bit in his last three starts, allowing 12 earned runs in 17 2/3 IP to see his ERA rise from 3.20 to 3.63. The Diamondbacks are also just 1-4 in his last five starts.
The Brewers are 45-22 at American Family Field, 35-14 as home favorites, and 20-5 when the line is between -130 and -160. Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks are 30-36 on the road, 16-22 as road underdogs, and 17-28 against teams with winning percentages over .540.
I can’t pass up the Brewers at this price tonight.
Diamondbacks vs Brewers same-game parlay (SGP)
It took a walk-off win for the Brewers to claim victory on Tuesday night, but that shouldn’t be the case tonight. Arizona’s bullpen has been taxed in the last two nights, with Eduardo Rodriguez and Brandon Pfaadt each getting chased in the third inning.
Brice Turang is riding a nine-game hit streak (13-for-35) and is batting .349 in August. Milwaukee's shortstop has collected a hit in all but one of his starts during that span.
Corbin Carroll is back to looking like his normal self, raising his batting average from .246 to .258 thanks to a 28-for-92 (.304) stretch since August 2. The Dbacks star outfielder is riding a 13-game hitting streak, and I expect that to continue tonight.
