The Los Angeles Dodgers took a 2-1 series lead with a marathon victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 3.

With the better pitcher on the mound in Game 4, things aren’t about to get any easier for the road team. That’s reflected in a Dodgers-heavy approach in my MLB player props.

Blue Jays vs Dodgers Game 4 props

Player BetMGM
Blue Jays Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 total bases +105
Dodgers Mookie Betts Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI -140
Dodgers Will Smith Over 0.5 singles +110

Blue Jays vs Dodgers player prop picks

Prop #1: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 total bases

+105 at BetMGM

Not many players have good track records against Shohei Ohtani. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is one of the exceptions, albeit over a limited sample. Vladdy has hit safely in three of eight at-bats when facing Ohtani. Two of the three went for extra bases, with one leaving the yard entirely.

Ohtani is a terrific pitcher b,ut he’s not immune to giving up damage against right-handed bats. Righties hit .265 this year, nearly .100 points higher than lefties.

Guerrero Jr. has hit safely in eight straight, clearing this line in six. He’s playing his best ball with the stakes at their highest.

He may also get an extra bat against Ohtani, given the Dodgers will be trying to preserve what’s left of their bullpen. That could work in his favor and give him extra time to adjust to how Ohtani is trying to attack him.

Prop #2: Mookie Betts Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

-140 at BetMGM

Shane Bieber pitched just over 40 innings for the Toronto Blue Jays in the regular season. His splits were drastic, with Bieber mowing down lefties while having a miserable time against righties.

Right-handed bats like Betts managed a .297 average and .298 ISO while hitting three homers per nine innings. Bieber was giving up contact and power consistently.

Mookie Betts had a disappointing first half of the season, but he really came on down the stretch. He’s been especially productive at home, where he’s averaged 2.8 hits + runs + RBI over the past 20 games while clearing this line in 14 of them (70%).

After a quiet couple of games, look for Betts to break out against Bieber and a taxed bullpen in Game 4.

Prop #3: Will Smith Over 0.5 singles

+110 at BetMGM

This line feels a little generous. Will Smith hit singles in more than half of his games this season and enters play scorching hot, having recorded one in nine of 10.

He now draws Bieber, who has allowed righties to hit nearly .300 against him. Smith posted a remarkable .309 average vs. right-handed pitchers this season and is 2-3 against Bieber.

Bieber’s best weapon is his slider. Smith hit .293 against sliders with a low 15.5 strikeout rate when facing righties.

He's consistently making good contact and avoiding strikeouts, which will make getting him out a very difficult task.
