The red-hot Toronto Blue Jays face their next test as they open a series against the AL Central-leading Detroit Tigers tonight at Comerica Park.

Right-hander Reese Olson starts for the Tigers tonight and is giving up a lot of hard contact this season, which is why my Blue Jays predictions are eyeing lefty power-hitter Addison Barger.

Blue Jays predictions for July-24

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Make way, Barger-ing through!

Pick: Addison Barger Over 1.5 total bases (+105 at BetVictor)

Addison Barger is being referred to as "Bam Bam Barger," and with good reason. The Toronto Blue Jays' breakout star can really crush the baseball.

He's hitting .339 in July with an OPS of 1.022. He has an intriguing blend of contact and power that has allowed him to produce in a big way.

Brager ranks in the 86th percentile in xBA, and in the 94th and 93rd percentiles in hard-hit rate and average exit velocity, respectively. He also sports a much higher slugging rate against right-handed pitching, seeing his SLG% climb from .326 to .558 with 32 of his 36 extra-base hits coming against RHP.

The Detroit Tigers are sending RHP Reese Olson to the mound tonight. He’s had a solid campaign for Detroit, sporting a 4-3 record with a 2.71 ERA and a .661 OPS at home.

Olson doesn't throw particularly hard, and he uses his sinker more than any other pitch that he likes to locate high and outside on left-handed hitters.

This is the pitch type and location that Barger has excelled against this season, hitting .419 with a 54% hard-hit rate against the sinker, with a .727 slug on high and outside offerings.

He’s averaging 2.25 total bases over his last 20 outings, going Over the 1.5 total in four of his previous five starts.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Addison Barger Over 1.5 total bases

George Springer Over 0.5 runs

Blue Jays -1.5

George Springer has scored in each of his last four games, with seven total runs scored in that stretch. Considering Tigers pitching is ice-cold right now, I’ll back Springer in the two-hole to get on base and score again.

The Jays have won five of six games out of the All-Star break, covering the run line in each of the wins while sporting a +16 run differential. Meanwhile, the Tigers are 0-6 on the run line coming out of the break with a run differential of  -15.
