Today’s Blue Jays best bet: A Springer in his step
George Springer Over 1.5 total bases (+ODDS at BetVictor)
It’ll be a battle between young pitchers on the mound with the Toronto Blue Jays calling up top prospect Trey Yesavage for the start, while the Tampa Bay Rays turn to Joe Boyle.
Boyle has thrown 36 innings in the big leagues this season, going 1-3 while sporting a 5.40 ERA.
His last three outings in the majors did not go his way. Boyle allowed 15 runs on 17 hits and 10 walks in just 9 1/3 innings before being demoted to Triple-A a few weeks ago.
He’s a towering righty at 6-foot-8 who throws heat, averaging 98MPH on his four-seam fastball.
The Jays are a good fastball-hitting team, with a .263 team average, and I’m targeting George Springer props due to his .305 average and .753 expected-slug-rate against the four-seamer. He also leads the team with 29 extra-base hits against the fastball this season.
Springer's coming off a 3-for-4 day against Baltimore, where he had eight total bases. In fact, he’s had 96 total bases over his last 35 games, where he’s hitting .363 with a 1.152 OPS.

For the final leg, I’ll take Daulton Varsho to go Over 1.5 total bases. He’s on a four-game hitting streak, going Over the total in three of those four games. He’s also a power-hitting lefty going up against a righty power pitcher who pitches to contact. That’s where Varsho can be most dangerous.
