NRFI/YRFI bets for September 20

Mariners at Astros: YRFI (Play at Thrillzz)

The Houston Astros have the second-longest YRFI streak going at five, as they host the Seattle Mariners.

These two have combined to plate a first-inning run in four of five meetings this year, and the pitching matchup suggests we could be in for another.

Seattle’s George Kirby has seen a first-inning run in five of his last eight starts.

Remember when Framber Valdez was really good? Houston’s lefty has hit the skids, going 1-6 in his last eight starts, and is carrying a whopping 7.88 ERA in September.

A YRFI has cashed in four of his last six outings.

Padres at White Sox: YRFI (Play at Thrillzz)

The Chicago White Sox scored two runs in the first inning of this series yesterday, extending the San Diego Padres' current YRFI streak to seven.

Chicago is on its own YRFI streak, tied for the third-longest active run at four

Considering the pitching matchup, there is good reason to think lightning will strike twice.

Veteran Yu Darvish is on the bump for the Padres, and a first-inning run has been plated in each of his last three starts.

For the White Sox, Yoendrys Gomez has had a YRFI in four of his last five outings and owns a 4.91 ERA over 19 appearances.

  • Bet: YRFI

Angels at Rockies: YRFI (Play at Thrillzz)

The Los Angeles Angels are YRFI gods, as their 57% rate is the best in baseball. The Colorado Rockies, who are seeing a run plate in 54.5% of their games, aren't far behind with a Top-5 mark.

Wouldn’t you know it: their first matchup on Friday had a run in the first inning.

If it happens back-to-back, Kyle Hendricks is certainly a great candidate to hang your wager on. The Angels’ righty has seen a first-inning run plate in six of his last seven starts.

German Marquez actually has only one YRFI in his last six starts, but his body of work suggests first-inning damage can be done.

Marquez is 0-5 in seven starts since July, and he’s carrying a 10.95 ERA in September.
