Falling off

After multiple weeks of steady growth reported by prediction market operators, Kalshi wasn’t the only one with week-over-week decreases. DraftKings Predictions had the third-highest notional volume on Sunday but experienced an 8.5% decline from $397 million the previous week to $363 million.

Primetime stays on top

Kalshi accounted for $457.1 million on single NFL games for Sunday, 60% of the reported volume.

As usual, the Sunday night primetime spot commanded the most attention. Kalshi reported $96.2 million in volume on Philadelphia-Washington. The NFL’s late window was dominated by Kansas City-Denver reaching $75.6 million. New England-Miami generated $41.1 million, while the L.A. battle between the Chargers and Rams surpassed $32 million at Kalshi.

Arizona-Dallas reached $44 million, while Baltimore-Buffalo was one of four other games to go over $30 million each. L.A. Lakers-Toronto was Kalshi’s most-traded non-football game on Sunday with $14.4 million, while Liverpool-Arsenal dominated soccer with $13.2 million at the operator.

College football dominates

College football generated $739.5 million on Saturday, which was down from $752.8 million the previous week. Gemini was the only operator to have not reported Saturday figures.

Ohio State-USC owned Saturday’s heavy college football and NBA slate, leading all single games with more than $36 million in volume at Kalshi. Minnesota-Indiana also reached $30 million, while games that generated at least $15 million in volume included Miami-UNC, Texas State-Boise State, Oregon State-Fresno State, Florida-Georgia, Arizona-Texas Tech, Notre Dame-Navy, and Northwestern-Oregon.

Philadelphia-Charlotte was not only the top-traded NBA game of the day, but it generated more volume than all but four college football games.
