RubyPlay partners with Hard Rock Bet for New Jersey release
Aristocrat isn't the only game development studio to release slots for New Jersey residents through Hard Rock Bet, as just last month RubyPlay partnered with the operator.
The partnership brought a range of RubyPlay’s slot games to New Jersey residents, with titles such as Diamond Explosion Patriots, Immortal Ways Diamond SE, and J Mania Loco Habanero among the first to be released.
Dr Eyal Loz, RubyPlay’s Chief Product Officer, said, “Partnering with Hard Rock Bet Casino is a tremendous opportunity to build on our early success in the US. From day one, our goal has been to create content that American players love, and we’re thrilled to bring our most engaging titles to an operator brand that needs no introduction and shares our commitment to quality and innovation. “
Novig leaves New Jersey after sweepstakes ban
While Hard Rock Bet is expanding in the state, sports prediction market platform Novig recently announced to customers that it would no longer operate in New Jersey after Governor Phil Murphy signed Assembly Bill 5447, which banned sweepstakes casinos in the state.
Due to Novig's dual currency system, where players can purchase currency with ‘no real-world value’ to play for payouts of USD, it is defined as a contest or game, which is now banned in the state.
While Novig has made no official announcement, users of the site received an email stating, “We are reaching out to inform you of a change to your Novig account. Due to new legislation, Novig will be required to restrict platform usage for users located in the state of New Jersey starting August 15, 2025.”
The departure marks the fourth state Novig departed from since its debut in 42 in September 2024.
