New York’s eight online sportsbooks produced their best hold to this point of the football season.
- New York sportsbooks clear $60 million in revenue for the first time since the World Cup ended.
- The latest handle was the fifth largest ever generated in the Empire State.
- FanDuel and DraftKings both produced double-digit holds.
Following Week 6 of the NFL campaign, mobile operators kept $63.3 million in gross revenue from a $615.1-million handle during the week ending Oct. 18, the New York State Gaming Commission reported Friday.
The 10.3% win rate is the highest since the week ending Aug. 16. It's the first time online sportsbooks cleared $60 million in gross revenue since the World Cup ended in mid-July and represents a 21.4% week-over-week increase.
Big increases
The end of the dry spell, which included four consecutive weeks of gross revenue under $50 million, began after Week 5 in the NFL and carried over during a period that was highlighted by the in-state Buffalo Bills being one of eight favorites that failed to cover the spread last week.
The increased New York sports betting revenue followed a handle that was up 5.8% compared to the previous week. Online operators took in more than $600 million in New York for the third time this fall, and the eighth time ever.
The amount wagered was also the fifth-most in a week since sports betting went live in the most lucrative U.S. market.
